OOC: Haha! Congrats on mod. by the way. =)
IC: Burntkit returned Dawnkit's grin, and raced after her. He appeared from the nursery just a moment after the she-kit. He followed Jadeheart to the glimmerstone, where he could see his leader and deputy waiting, along with the whole rest of Riverclan gathered around the base. He stopped at the base of the rock where Jadeheart instructed.
"Cat's of Riverclan. We gather right now to promote two of our young cats to apprenticeship!" meowed Shadestar. The clan cheered for this. "Dawnkit!" she called the she-kit forward first. "Do you promise to work your hardest to learn the warrior code, and train to protect your clan, while obeying it's laws?" The gray leader's light blue gaze fell upon the gaze of Dawnkit. It was not stern, and was honestly quite soft. Shadestar loved to watch kits become apprentices. It showed her clan was moving forward in life.

I do! And I'll try not to get in trouble... Dawnkit squeaked. She smiled as big as she could without sneezing. Thymemoon sighed and shook her head so slightly no one could see it. She smiled at the thought of getting her first apprentice. She looked at Burnkit, who was waiting there. She nodded to him and looked back at Shadestar to continue.

Shadestar suppressed a laugh. The little she-kit was so full of joy, it was almost contagious. Her remark did make the leader smile. "Then Dawnkit, from this day, until you have completed your training, you shall be known as Dawnpaw!" the gray she-cat called out the name with pride. The rest of the clan cheered and yowled the new apprentice's name loudly. Burntkit was among the first. When things quieted a bit, Shadestar cleared her throat. "I have not had an apprentice in a while. A long enough while to make me miss the task of training a younger cat. Therefore, I have chosen to mentor Dawnpaw myself!" she smiled at her clanmates, her light blue eyes sparkling. Burnkit cheered loudly with the rest of the clan at this news. He looked at Dawnpaw, guessing that the she-cat would be quite pleased.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! she squeaked. She went up to touch noses with her new mentor. She was shaking with excitement and missed her mentors nose the first time she tried to touch it. She took a deep breath and touched her mentors nose, less shakily this time. Thymemoon sat there, and laughed at Dawnpaw's excitement. She tried to control herself, so she only let out a little chuckle.

Shadestar touched her nose to the nose of her excited new apprentice. "Dawnpaw, wait over next to Thymemoon while Burntkit gets his name." the mentor softly instructed her apprentice. Then she called Burntkit over to her. "Burntkit, do you promise to work hard to learn the warrior code, obey your mentor, and train for your clan?" she turned her light blue gaze to the brown tom-kit. Burnkit stood next to her now, eyes a bit wide, fur slightly fluffy, but quite composed otherwise. "Yes!" he meowed, hoping he sounded strong. "Then Burntkit, from now until the day you become a warrior, you shall be called Burntpaw!" She touched the younger cat's shoulder, while the rest of the clan called out his new name cheerfully. "Your new mentor, shall be a cat I trust completely to pass on her wisdom, strength, unique methods, and skill. Thymemoon!" the leader purred, smiling at her friend. Burntpaw walked over to his new mentor, knees a little shaky from the excitement. He leaned in to touch noses with the deputy.

Thymemoon touched noses with her new apprentice and saw how shaky he was. Don't worry Burnpaw, I was so scared when i became an apprentice i almost wet myself! she chuckled softly as she remembered herself as a kit. She had alwayd been a bouncy one, yet when it came to getting up in front of others, she was scared shitless.(sorry.. i have no other word for it!! X3) Burnpaw! Burnpaw! Dawnpaw chanted. She made her voice loud so it was to be heard above the others. She was excited to be able to grow up with someone, and not alone like some do. She looked at Burnpaw with a twinkle in her eyes. This is the cat she will be spending almost all her time with as an apprentice and she knew she was going to love every minute of it.

Burntpaw smiled at his mentor. His nerves toward if she would like him seemed to melt away. Despite the fact that she was deputy, which would intimidate any new apprentice, Thymemoon had an energy about her that made Burntkit feel comfortable. Like he was in good paws. (With Allstate! lol jk) The young tom glanced over at Dawnpaw. Her eyes seemed to sparkle brightly at him. He remembered all the good times they had shared together as kits, and knew he would love the times they would have as apprentices together. He grinned.
Shadestar glanced at Thymemoon. The gray she-cat guessed she made a good choice for her deputy's apprentice. The two seemed to get along fine. The leader was secretly looking forward to training their apprentices together. She had not had a good excuse to have some fun with her friend in a while, and at least this way, they weren't simply goofing off...The leader turned her light blue gaze back to her own apprentice. "Well Dawnpaw, I suggest you get some rest in your new den. Tomorrow we have plenty of training to do!" the gray cat purred in a friendly tone.

Right! I will set my mind alarm for right before sunrise! she thought deeply at the scene of sunrise to get her mind set on when to wake up. She looked at Burnpaw and smiled. Let's go get our nest set up for tonight! Come on! she scampered over to the apprentice's den. Thymemoon looked after the little she-cat, then looked at Burnpaw. You better go before she gets all the good moss! she sighed and looked over to Shadestar. We are gonna have our hands full, eh? she laughed and Got up and nodded her head to her friend. I will retire for the night so i have all my strength for tomorrow.. Good night Shadestar. With a friendly smile, she turned to the warrior's den and started to walk off.

Shadestar dismissed the gathered cats, and bade her deputy a good night as well. She laughed at the thought of how full their paws would be from this moment until both of their apprentices were deemed ready as warriors. The two young cats seemed so energized...And adding their training to the already heavy work load of being a leader or a deputy...Well it would not be easier, that was certain! Thought the gray she-cat knew it would be worth the extra effort. She loved training apprentices. This was a decision she was pleased with.
Burntpaw smiled, nodded at his mentor's words, and then raced off after Dawnpaw. He approached the apprentices den with some caution. It smelled different from the nursery. Perhaps it was his imagination, but he could practically smell importance in this den. At least more than had clung to the air of the nursery! He looked over at Dawnpaw, and couldn't hold back his giant grin. "This is so cool!" he whispered to his friend.

This is great! Dawnpaw mewed. She got some moss for the both of them and sat down in the moss. She smiled and looked at Burnkit. Come on! We have training to do in the morning! She set her head down and soon fell into a deep sleep.
Thymemoon walked into her den and sighed as she sat down on some moss. I can't wait to go tell Thornstrike about Burnpaw! she whispered. She loved that WindClan warrior, even though they were in different clans and all. She wished just for a moment that she was in WindClan, running through the moores with Thornstrike, yet laughed because the tom would most likely never do something like that unless he was heading to a big battle with another clan. She dwelled on that dream for a while, then her dream brought her to a time in her apprentice days. She was running around in the brush, when she smelled a strange smell. She followed it and found two toms, about her age maybe older, fighting to the death. She watched silently from her hiding place. One of the cats looked strangely fimiliar, and the other didn't ring a bell in her head. She woke suddenly with the realization in her head. Thornstrike! She looked around, hoping no one had heard her, then placed her head back down and went back to a now dreamless dream.

Burntpaw laughed lightly, before following Dawnpaw's lead. He lay his head on his fresh new moss bedding. For a moment, the little tom only looked up at the roof of the den. His mind wandering through his kithood. A very lonely kithood. Both his mother and father gone. His father. The thought always made him sad. He knew his mother was dead. the clan had informed him of it. However, no cat knew who his father was, or if he was still alive. Burntpaw looked to the roof again, his eyes deep. I wonder if you are both up there, in the stars. Looking down on me tonight. I hope you are both proud. This was Burntpaw's final thought before drifting into a very deep sleep.
