The she-cat nodded, a surprisingly serious look on the young cat's face. However, she was slightly confused by his next words. She wasn't sure what he meant by not wanting revenge. After all, this journey isn't for revenge. It's to save his father who may still be alive... He doesn't think I'm going to cause any harm to those horrible cats though, does he? First of all, she wouldn't dream of attacking another cat. Second, how was a kit supposed to do little, if any, damage to a full-grown pack of blood thirsty cats? Shivering slightly as she realized this would be harder than just walking in and leaving with Serenity's father, she swallowed her fear, reminding herself that this was for Serenity, not her. Blinking, the she-cat nodded, blue eyes flickering. "Alright then. If you'd like, we can leave as soon as possible, though we should probably stay one more night or so to save our strength." She meowed, already trying to plan out how their rescue/search mission would lay out.

He slowly raised his eyes to look into her own blue orbs again, and nodded quietly. He wasn't too impressed by the idea, as he wasn't sure how the two of them could take on so many older, experienced cats that actually enjoyed hurting and killing. He guessed that they might be able to make the journey with a few other cats they met on the way. And who wouldn't want to launch a raid on murderers and terrible beasts that hurt others for no reason. Serenity got to his paws, flicking his black and white tail back and forth. "We should rest tonight. It's not far from dawn and we've been up for a long time. It's better travel with daylight to light our way, don't you think?" he queried, tipping his head to one side. The tip of his tail began twitching from side to side. As much as he was scared, he was also excited. To be making a journey with another cat rather than journeying alone like he was so used to.

The she-cat nodded, smiling at him. "Yes, you're right." Purring, she couldn't help but feel light-hearted as she wondered when it was she had last been in the company of another cat. Certainly not recently. After all, she hadn't met any others since leaving her family, and she smiled at the idea of having a traveling companion. The thought of going on a quest excited her, and the idea of gathering allies along the way was even more appealing. Looking around, the she-cat suddenly remembered that she herself didn't have anywhere to sleep. Unlike the tom, she'd always rested in any random patch of moss she could find; never staying in one den for more than a night. Searching for any nearby possibilities, she spotted a softer looking clump of grass and, thankful that she was small, set herself down, fitting perfectly on the patch. Smiling at him, she meowed, "We can set off in the morning with you leading the way. Until then, we should get some sleep like you suggested." Setting her head on her paws, she smiled at him, wondering when the last time was that she'd felt so happy. "Good nightish dawn, Serenity." She purred, closing her eyes as she looked forward to the journey ahead.

Serenity twitched on ear and dipped his head with acknowledgement. As he watched Rice lie down on a patch of grass, he turned and lay down in the tall grass, feeling the long stocks sliding through his fur. The feeling of ground beneath his side soothed him, and he felt himself calming down. Thinking about the journey, and about the possibility that he may see his father again someday, he felt a prickle of excitement, yet that was it. As he tried to calm himself into a sleep, a picture of his mother's face flashed into his mind and he opened his eyes again. Flashed of blood and claws stretched across his vision, and he closed his eyes, trying to block them out. He felt sick deep in his belly, as though claws were digging into the soft flesh. He twitched and wriggled restlessly, not from discomfort, as he was very comfortable, but from the wary energy that pumped through his veins. Letting out a silent sigh, he raised his head upon the stars, watching as a few broke through their dark cover, before he closed his eyes again and drifted into a dreamless sleep.
