Age. The elderly ThunderClan leader was soon reaching the end of her reign over ThunderClan. She lost track of how many seasons she had led her clan; there were too many to imagine. But she wasn't too old that she couldn't hunt, patrol, or fight. She still had youth blood inside her, along with her two remaining lives. StarClan's lives made her live longer than the average cat, but they couldn't mask the natural body of aging that she was going through. There were white hairs that flecked her jet black muzzle, and now, her fur was growing thinner each season. Muscle still coated her bone, and no one said anything about being too 'weak' to fight. She could fight any cat, any day. But the thought of retirement and doubting the future was thick in her mind as she padded, stiffly, through the trees.
Her paws led her straight to SnakeRocks, and it took a moment for the elderly femme to recognize the clearing. She hadn't been along here for some time, mostly because it was too dangerous, and if there was an adder around, she didn't want to be caught by it's fangs. She skirted around the stones, and just as she was about to pad back into the trees, something stirring caught her yellow eyes. Squirrel. The creature hadn't seen her, but sat up, nibbling, on a nut. It was surprisingly close, she wondered how she hadn't seen it to begin with. She also wondered why it hadn't seen her. She froze, instinctively, then shot forward. The squirrel took off, towards the thunderpath as though it could escape.
The black leader didn't flinch as she shot across the stony thunderpath, tripping over the squirrel as she caught it in her jaws, and tumbled to the stinking grass on the other side. She lay, jaws closed around the squirrel's scarlet throat, gasping for air, fur ruffled, and eyes wide with the shock of a kill. I'm really showing my age, she realized, trying to sit up, but too exhausted. The sudden run was too much for her, so early in the morning. After a short rest, she managed to pick the squirrel up. She then realized just how close the ShadowClan border was. She hadn't crossed it, but she was practically on the doorstep into their territory. Eyes narrowing with weariness, she turned to pad back across the Thunderpath.

Creamtail saw her leader and padded over to her. She kept her tail high and smiled, even though she had had her catnip stolen. She nodded to the elderly leader, knowing her time was almost up. We already lost our deputy, to lose our leader too... It's too much to bear! she thought sadly. Hello Silentstar. Hunting I see... Cutting it a bit close eh? she laughed good-naturely to her leader. The fur on Creamtail's tail seemed like a rolling sea, kinda like you would see in a beautiful grassland. She was proud of her fur, and made sure to take the best care of it. She sat for a second to get a bur out of her paw. She winced as it seemed to penetrate her tongue, though this was not the case. She spit it out away from them and smiled. You haven't seen any catnip on your little trip have you? My stock was stolen and I need to find some more... She asked without worry in her voice, for she knew StarClan would bring some to her somehow.

Follow my pawsteps. And I guide you to the stars. Recall destiny.
RESPECT ---
Silentstar looked up, peering closely at the she-cat in front of her, and for a moment, she almost didn't recognize her own medicine cat. Then her eyes cleared with recognition, and she let the squirrel drop limply to the ground, feeling relieved, for her jaw ached from holding it. She wasn't as vigourous as she once had been. "Yes, very close. Hopefully no ShadowClan cats had seen. I don't know them to get the idea in their heads that I've been stealing," she murmured out loud. She didn't really understand the calumny of the other clans, always trying to start fights and wars without even any real proof. It was so worthless; why did any of it even matter? In her age, Silentstar had began to grow nostalgic, brooding over the past and trying to understand why she made such stupid mistakes when she was younger. The only thing she could come up with was what would have happened to ThunderClan if she hadn't made any mistakes?
She glanced back a the medicine cat when Creamtail spoke again. She hadn't seen any catnip, but she was sure Creamtail would find some. "Sorry, I haven't seen any. Stolen? Why would any cat sneak in to steal catnip? It's the middle of green leaf," she mused, frowning slightly. Perhaps it was just a troublesome pair of kits who had played with the catnip, and were enchanted by its delicious smell. Whatever it was, she knew her medicine cat would probably want to make sure whoever took it didn't have a real need for it. The last thing any clan needed was an outbreak of green cough or white cough in the middle of green leaf. Changing the subject, she glanced over her shoulder as another monster rushed by. They were still very close to the ShadowClan border.
OOC: A ShadowClan cat should start coming out here and making accusations, so the fight can start.

Shadowstrike got there just in time to see the Thunderclan leader crossing the Thunderpath, squirrel in mouth. He stopped and crouched "What?! Did I just see... Shadowstrike silently crept a little closer to the Thunderpath, Silentstar dropped the squirrel that was all he needed. Shadowstrike stood up and looked at Silentstar "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" the sand color tom demanded as raged filled his eyes Thunderclan cat stealing prey was bad, but the leader stealing? Why is she acting like a mouse-brained kit?! On top of that it was was green leaf, her clan-mates don't even need the squirrel!" Shadowstrike trembled with rage then, with out thinking, Shadowstrike lunched himself across the Thunderpath at the Thunderclan leader.

Prevaricating; I do not: I did nothing. You shall know keep back...
JUMPED ---
Silentstar nearly leaped out of her skin when a cat snarled from across the thunderpath; of course! She spun around, just in time to see him springing at her across the border. Fox-dung! She thought, barely able to ready herself to take his blow. The next thing she knew, she was tumbling to the ground as the tom smashed in to her, and the stinky, foreign scent of ShadowClan odour filled her nose. She could have coughed, could have fought the suffocating feeling of the perfumed air, but instead, she had something real to fight. Great StarClan, she thought, gasping, for the impact had knocked the breathe out of her and now she was feeling quite dizzy as she struggled to gather her senses. At least, she thought she was capable of fighting before the situation to fight suddenly roused right before her.
"Doing? I'm hunting, warrior! The squirrel ran from our side of the border and on to the thunderpath. You don't own the thunderpath," she hissed, once she had got her breathe back. The skinny leader scrambled to her paws, amber eyes flashing with reproach as she tried to keep her cool. Too late; this fight was beyond words, she realized, as she saw the fury in his eyes. She would have to fight. Silentstar dropped in to a crouch, her amber eyes glittering furiously as she tried to choose the best vantage point to strike. Where was the easiest place to hit? She had completely forgotten about Creamtail who was right beyond her, and her only thought was to defend her honour and the kill she had caught by all ThunderClan rights.
OOC I'm just going to mention this in the post because some people joined after I sent the Mass Email out. Silentstar is supposed to lose a life in the battle, whether by a killing blow, or bleeding from a blow, or an accident and what not. If you want your cat to be injured/die, that's up to you. It will continue to add to the plot as long as we do. The battle should last a while, and more cats from each clan should keep joining in. :3

"Ah, but you are wrong, dear Silentstar."
A sleek dark brown tabby she-cat slithered from the brush of ShadowClan territory, loping over to sand at the side of her Clanmate. She rested her tail on his shoulder for half a second -a signal to calm himself somewhat- before allowing it to fall.
"That golden line is the divider. ShadowClan owns half, as does ThunderClan. Anything that crosses the line automatically is ShadowClan prey. So," she added, flattening her ears to her skull, "the mighty Silentstar has stolen!"
Dropping her body low to the ground beside Shadowstrike, the she-cat called Hawktail bared long yellow fangs and thorn-like claws. With a growl, she pulled herself forward threateningly.

A light brown tabby wondered through the forest, enjoying the beautiful green leaf. She could hear birds chirping and a light breeze swaying the trees back and forth. She let the breeze ruffle her fur and she enjoyed it for a moment before continuing.
When she set off again, she had no apparent direction, just to get away from camp for a while.
The direction she had chosen had brought her to the Thunderpath, otherwise known as the border between ThunderClan and ShadowClan. She looked across and was surprised to see two of her warriors on the ThunderClan side, Hawktail and Shadowstrike. She also saw Silentstar and Creamtail.
Quickly thinking, Beechflight ran across the border, even though she knew that could make matters worse. She came to a halt beside her warriors and demanded, "What happened?"

Coldfur just knew this would happen.
She had been out hunting herself for maybe a squirrel or so. As she had been searching, she caught wind of her leader, Silentstar. Curious, she had ventured out of the bushes to see her leader on the other side of the thunderpath, Creamtail the warrior, and three Shadowclan warriors. Instinctively, watching first, she dashed across the thunderpath to aid her aging leader. Coldfur's sandy pelt was thick short and course, and her muscles rippled beneath her fur. A fire burned in her eyes. She had heard the conversation. " I saw the squirrel run across the path from thunderclan territory. That was the one i was going to go for." She said quickly and calmly. She needed to try to talk it out. Though, it would most likely end in a fight. She tensed her muscles, her amber eyes burning.
