A small fish swam by slowly, happy and content in the water. It slowly swam its way up the riverbed and came to a shallow part of the water. Suddenly, it was hit, swooped out of the water and landed on the ground where it gasped and fought for air. A ginger and white cat quickly ended it's life with a quick snap of her jaws on its body. She was a happy bouncy she-cat with sapphire blue eyes and very proud of herself. She was the deputy of RiverClan, and even though her love was in WindClan, she was happy and proud. She looked over at WindClan's side of the border and smiled, wishing she could see him about now. Duties had kept her away from the WindClan border and everyday she felt herself longing to see her friend and love. She sat and waited, hoping maybe he would come see her.
She looked at her fur and thought it to be quite ruffled so she started to clean her dirty pelt, not stopping until she thought that it was up to her standards. She smiled inwardly at herself, thinking she looked rather fine for a cat her age. She laid down and relaxed, slowly closing her eyes and dozing lightly by the river.

By now, the realization that he was breaking the Warrior Code should've caught up with him, but frankly, even when Thornstrike did bother remembering it, his mind was made up. Nothing had stopped him from getting what he wanted before, and that wasn't about to change. The truth was, the tom might have been getting a bit obsessive. Lately, he'd been messing up. He hadn't put time into setting up training sessions with Featherpaw, and his hunting was poor. He'd been out between sunrise and sunset hunting the day before and all he'd managed to bring back were a half-starved vole and some bramble thorns in his paw that required the Medicine Cat's attention. He was distracted, foggy. He'd almost snapped at his own deputy a few times, and when he wasn't thinking of ways to sneak out and hunt for Night, his thoughts were filled with her. Thymemoon, of course. The very she-cat fishing by the Riverside. He'd tried not to go there. He really had, but Thornstrike was bad at resisting temptation, and though he knew he could get flayed alive for doing so, he'd given in several times and waited by the border, just out of curiosity and maybe even hope that she would be there. And every day he'd been disappointed.
The tom had started worrying that perhaps she'd changed her mind and didn't want to see him anymore. She was deputy of Riverclan, after all. If they got caught, he might get reprimanded, but there was no way Thymemoon would be able to stay in her clan. He didn't want to endanger her, but the idea of losing her sent his nerves boiling into a rage that was shadowed by an unspeakable fear. He could not lose her, no matter what. Is this what Night feels like, knowing that if he gets close to someone, I'll take them down too? Not that he would. Thornstrike might be harsh and a murderer, but he didn't kill innocent cats. Night wasn't innocent, but if any of his little friends did get in Thornstrike's way, he wouldn't hesitate to cut them down.
The tom hadn't given up his search for Night or Thymemoon. He was hoping that perhaps his lover was just busy with her duties, and it would make sense, too. But it didn't change the fact that after being alone for so long, Thornstrike had come to rely on the she-cat as his close companion, even if they rarely got to see each other. If she ever became leader, he would be undyingly supportive, and yet he felt that maintaining their relationship was already hard enough.
Wait a minute. Is that... He stared at the she-cat, the very one he'd been talking about, grooming herself before laying down for a nap. Instantly, he snorted in amusement before trotting her way, carefully making his way from downwind of the she-cat. When he'd finally gotten close enough to count the whiskers on her face, he smirked and, without restraining the amusement in his voice, said, "You should be more careful. You never know what kind of cats are out there, watching you and waiting for just the right moment to make their move."

Thymemoon felt the presence coming toward her and told herself to stay there. When she heard his amused voice she stayed where she was, the only indecation of hearing him was her ears pointing in his direction. She was so happy to see him, but wanted to act a little cool in case her apprentice or some other cat was roaming around. It's so great to see you Thorn. It's been so crazy around camp and on the other side of the border that it's kept me away from here. Her voice was filled with her emotions. Sadness that she had been kept away from Thornstrike, relief that he has come by today, excitement that she gets to see her love, and the love that she felt for him.
She sat up, her sapphire eyes opening slowly. She smiled lightly at him and looked at her fish. Would you like to share Thorn? It's freshly caught. she motioned to the fish laying on the ground just waiting to be eaten. She picked it up and padded over to the very border and placed it down, smiling at Thornstrike and motioning him with her tail to come over.
