Dawnpaw wandered around the camp, her nose to the ground. She swerved around in a big maze of Fernpelt's scent. She finallyreached the end of the trail that led into th forest. She was so bored She knew she probably wasn't allowed to wander into the forest alone, but her mentor was out there, and she needed to catch up on some training. She scanned the camp, making sure no other cat wss watching, and crept out of the camp exit. She trotted silently through the forest, Her ears pricked for any signs of Fernpelt. Her scent was mixed with other thunderclan warriors'. She recognized Lilypond's scent too. She weaved between the trees, getting farther and farther away from the Thunderclan camp.

[green]The she-cat lay in a heap of fur, staring up at the leaf-strewn sky. Green eyes bright and shimmering under the sun, the she-cat purred and batted at a leaf that had fallen onto her muzzle. Sitting up, Fernpelt sighed sadly. Green-leaf wasn't her favorite season, but she loved the prey and warmth it brought with it. It wouldn't be long before Leaf-fall started setting in, and she already felt the familiar coldness she always did when she thought of the bare seasons. Shaking grass and earth from her white pelt, the warrior stood up and stretched, flexing each claw individually before yawning (lol, I actually yawned at this part xD) and trotting deeper into the forest. Though she stood out like a puddle in the desert, she wasn't out to hunt. Rather, she was enjoying the time she had. Whether it was watching clouds pass by or blowing away dandelion seeds, she was intent on enjoying the outdoors. She'd live in Shadowclan her first moons, and the darkness had never really suited her frosty white coat. Though it wasn't like she fit in any more here, she was at least happier to be in the golden warmth than trapped beneath the dark tree-tops. Suddenly, she heard pawsteps in the distance, and her ears pricked, eyes blinking as she went still, waiting for the stranger to make his or her appearance. Several minutes passed by when she suddenly recognized the scent of her apprentice, Dawnpaw. Instantly, the she-cat brightened and bounded through the undergrowth, halting just in time to stop herself from running over the smaller cat. "Dawnpaw! What are you doing out here? Did you come to enjoy nature too?" She meowed cheerfully, eyes bright and shining as she spoke to her apprentice. [/center][/green]

"Uh- actually I ws looking for you!" Dawnpaw chirped. She stared up at the white she-cat. "I was wondering if we could go training..or hunting. Glitterpaw is way ahead of me! And I want to be apprenticed at the same time she does!" Dawnpaw declared, confidently. She gazed at her mentor. She wanted to be a warrior too. She frowned, wishing she could fast-forward time to her warrior ceremony.

[green]Blinking, the she-cat stared at the apprentice curiously before smiling knowingly and sitting back down. "Ahh, I see! You want to be the best warrior Thunderclan's got! Well then, Silentstar was smart by putting you with me. We can accomplish that goal together." Grinning, the she-cat stood up, white tail waving for Dawnpaw to follow her. "Well then, first things first! You can't hunt or fight in a territory you're unfamiliar with, so I'll start with the grand tour! Come over this way and I'll show all you need to see!" She meowed, beautiful white pelt rustling in the breeze as she padded deeper into the woods, not checking to see if her apprentice was following her. Then again, that was Fernpelt for you. Energetic, lively, in her own world. Yes, she had strange teaching methods, but she most likely would always be looking out for her apprentice and future apprentices, even after they became warriors. Heck, she might even still be watching them when she was an old cat in Starclan! Then again, as she thought about it, the idea of an old cat constantly staring at you was rather creepy, so she decided she'd let them be at peace when she died. [/green][/center]

Dawnpaw purred loudly and trotted off, her mentor leading the way. She scented the air. It smelled damp and stuffy from all the rain they had. Her paws splashed through the puddles, spraying water droplets onto her glossy silver pelt. "Are we going to see the river?!" Dawnpaw asked, suddenly very excited. She had never seen the forest, let alone the river. She tried picturing it. A calm stream tricklinhg through the forest with riverclan kits splashing around. She heard the roar of water nearby. "What's that sound?" She asked, a bit frightened.

[green]Looking over her shoulder, it took the she-cat three seconds to contemplate her answer before meowing, "Sure! I'll show you Sunningrocks too." Picking up speed, she slowed down as her apprentice asked another question. Stopping, Fernpelt grinned at Dawnpaw, waving her tail. "That's the river your hearing. It goes on and on until it eventually turns into a waterfall. This means we're closeby." And sure enough, as the she-cat pushed her way through the bushes ahead, she was greeted by the familiar feel of sand beneath her paws and the sun scattering in brilliant hues off of the lapiz river. Trotting over, the she-cat bent over, lapping up several drops to quench her thirst before glancing over at Dawnpaw. "This is Sunningrocks, and that's Riverclan on the other side." She meowed, inidicating the opposite bank with her tail. "They've been fighting us for this territory for countless seasons. A lot of cats say it's because Sunningrocks is where we warriors go to relax when we're tired." She purred, ears flicking as the rushing water splashed against the stepping stones. "Riverclan mostly hunt fish, so I don't think it makes much sense for us to have half of the river, though we do need a water supply. Then again, the ravine has a stream cutting around it, and the river does make a nice border line." She purred, stretching as the sun warmed her pelt. "This is where Graystripe met Silverstream, you know, the cats from the olden times. It's also where the ancient cats Stonefur and Mistyfoot were brought over to Riverclan. You could say all the clan territories are history grounds." She purred, smiling at her apprentice. [/center][/green]

Dawnpaw's mouth gaped open. Some calm, trickling river!, she though to herself. "Graystripe and Silverstream? Stonepelt and Mistyfoot? Who are they?" Dawnpaw asked. She had never heard of cats by those names.

[xD It's fine.] [green]The she-cat smiled and glanced up at the sky, allowing her coat to absorb the warmth before she looked back over at her apprentice. "They're warriors from the past who joined Starclan long ago. Graystripe was a Thunderclan warrior and best friend to the great Firestar. He met his first mate here, Silverstream; a Riverclan warrior. Stonepelt and Mistyfoot are two of Bluestar's kits. You know about Bluestar, don't you?" She meowed, smiling at the young cat's curiosity. [/center][/green]

Dawnpaw nodded, she had known about the legendary Bluestar, who had died saving her clan from a pack of dogs. As she thought about Bluestar, Dawnpaw promised herself that she was going to be just like her. I'm going to lead this clan one day, she thought confidently to herself. "But.....I thought having mates from opposite clans was against the warrior code!" How could this cat do that? Especially when he was best friends with Firestar! She stared at Fernpelt, waiting for a response.

[green]The she-cat shrugged and smiled helplessly. "Who knows. They say they're no boundaries in love. They couldn't help how they felt for each other, and even though he fell in love with her, it didn't mean he was any less loyal to Thunderclan." She meowed, tail flicking as she spoke. "Bluestar's mate was Oakheart, Riverclan's deputy, yet she still chose her clan over her kits. She was devoted and loyal to Thunderclan; she knew her duty was to lead them, and maybe that's why she gave up her kits. Maybe she was trying to make ammends with Starclan for breaking the Warrior Code. Alright, that's enough talk about the past. There's still a lot more you have to see." She purred, standing up and trotting further down the banks. Gradually, the sand grew rougher as the ground became lined with boulders and stones, and the she-cat veered deeper into the woods until she came across a clearing littered with flat stones. In the back, directly across from her, stood a dark cave that gave off an ominous feeling. "Ok, don't walk past me, mkay?" She meowed, blocking her apprentice from going any further by sticking her tail out to the side. "This is Snakerocks. Adders, poisonous reptiles, live under those boulders, so I wouldn't take my chances if I was you. You see that cave up ahead? That's where Tigerstar's dog pack lived on Thunderclan Territory." She meowed, a slightly sad tone in her voice as she spoke, tail-tip flicking in indication towards the cavern. [/center][/green]

"Oh" was all that Dawnpaw could say. She tried not to think about how Bluestar had a mate with another clan, but how she was loyal and brave for her clan. Dawnpaw suddenly came to a stop, as Fernpelt's tail formed a barrier in front of her. She gazed at the boulders and into the dark crevices between them. Adders. Posinous snakes. "They won't hurt us will they?" Dawnpaw asked, backing away. Tigerstar's dog pack. This seems like depressing place, she thought. "What do we use this territory for?"

[green]"No, so long as we don't walk on the rocks and disturb them." She purred, glancing reassuringly at her apprentice. Turning around, she flicked her tail for her apprentice to come. "I'm not completely sure we use it for anything. But there's a lot of forest around it, so it comes with prey. After all, the snakes have to eat something too. And I think it would be too troublesome to just make this one spot no longer part of Thunderclan territory, seeing as it's directly in the middle of all our other boundaries." Smiling she padded onwards, heading towards a sight that brought up familiar memories of training with her mentor and often losing in test-fights with her denmates. Halting by the Sandy Clearing, Fernpelt beckoned for Dawnpaw to do whatever she felt. "This is where we'll be doing most of our battle training. If we're lucky, I can take you out with some of the other apprentices and their mentors. The Sandy Hollow has been here as long as I can remember, and even if I wasn't born in Thunderclan, it's training here that I remember the most." She purred as she recalled all the fun times she'd had with her mentor and fellow apprentices. [/center][/green]

Dawnpaw nodded. She wouldn't be disturbing any snakes any time soon. As they came to the Sandy hollow, Dawnpaw's pads itched to start training. The ground was soft and sandy, so if she made a mistake, she wouldn't be too seriously injured. She tried to imagine herself training with Glitterpaw. Seeing as she was much older than Dawnpaw, She would probably be pinning her on the ground. Dawnpaw flinched, and then shook that image out of her head. She waited for her mentor to take her to other parts of thunderclan territory.

[green]"Alrighty; time to show you one of the drearier parts of the territory, though it's still nonetheless important." Purring, the she-cat set off again, this time heading into a deeper part of the woods. As she walked, she smiled cheerfully despite the gloomier destination, and she even paused to look over her shoulder and speak with Dawnpaw. "We'll have to walk quite a bit to get there, so let's see how fast you can run. If you lose track of me, just shout and I'll come back. Alright, you ready? Let's see how quickly we can get there." Grinning, Fernpelt tensed and, without another word, shot forward, hindlegs kicking off the ground as she sprinted into the woods, white pelt a blurr against the shadows. Though she wasn't running her hardest because she truly didn't want Dawnpaw to get lost, the warrior was still enjoying the feel of the colder air rushing against her as the they neared the Thunderpath. Dawnpaw grinned. Her hear raced as she plummeted through the trees, in hot pursuit of Fernpelt. She was sure she wouldn't get lost with Fernpelt's long white coat in front of her. Dawnpaw felt as though she could never tire. Flying through the trees at such speed. She danced over logs and bushes. She had never been able to run like this, kits couldn't leave camp. but now, I'm an apprentice, she thought.
