[yellow] Tilting his head, the tom followed the snake's movements, amber eyes rested on the sinuous figure. It was weaving its way through the cracks and holes in a worn-down boulder; picky as it warmed and cooled different segments of its long, coiling body. "Hi Mr.Snake. Are the rocks nice today?" He meowed, giving a sweet smile at the adder. It flicked its tongue lazily at him but payed no more attention. The tom had already watched it bring down a mouse, so he knew he would be in no danger as long as he didn't get too close. Breathwhisp stretched out, silver tabby fur shimmering under the sun. His right eye flickered sideways to watch another adder burrowing deep beneath a pile of rocks. Any cat would think the tom crazy to be so relaxed around such venomous reptiles. Yet, he knew that, in a sense, they were just like cats. They hunted, faught to protect themselves and their young. And they saw death the same way cats did. Death was the end of life; no more, no less. We shouldn't hurt anyone. That wouldn't be right. We fight to protect those who are precious to us, right? He thought, smiling and resting his head on a smooth stone. His right eye focused on a slithering body as it approached him. Stopping directly in front of the tom's face, it flicked its tongue back and forth, gaze fixated on the cat. Oh, he looks unhappy. The tom grinned as the adder arched backwards, apparently seeing the tom as a threat. It darted forward, jaws snapping open, fangs flashing in the light. However, even faster was the paw that slammed the snake's head into the ground. Like lightning, Breathwhisp had pinned the creature before it could do any harm, and he slowly stood up, still restraining the writhing animal as he rose. "Now, now. That wasn't very nice." Tipping his head, he unsheathed his claws so that they were dangerously close to slicing through the snake's scales. However, he suddenly released it, stepping back several paces as it darted underground almost immediately as it saw the opportunity of escape. "Weeeeeeee... Have fun little guy. Go on and live your life out. Just don't be so quick to harm others." He purred before turning around and facing the outline of the trees. Strangely, he felt a soft pang of loneliness. Who would've thought I'm so without a companion right now that I have to talk to snakes. Smiling, he shrugged it off and began trotting towards the undergrowth.[/yellow]

A black she-cat padded along through the trees, enjoying the warmth of the air and the beautiful Green-Leaf day. The sun was bright in the sky, so bright that it found it's way through the canopy of leaves to warm her fur and reveal the tint of brown in her pelt. As quiet a leader as she was, she felt a sudden longing to be talking with one of her warriors, just a normal, simple conversation. And it was, at that moment, that she padded along almost directly into Breathwhisp. She paused, swerving in order to not crash into his side, and then blinked in surprise. "I'm sorry Breathwhisp. I should be looking where I'm going," she meowed, stepping onto a bare patch of earth and curling a long tail around small paws. "How are you today?" She always remembered him, a small, injured, soaking wet kit stumbling into the ThunderClan camp, eye bleeding and slit. No matter how he acted or how she saw him, she would always remember that sad, sorrow-full day when his mother's body was found crushed by the storm that cost him his left eye's sight.

[yellow]Sliding nimbly to the side to avoid collision, the tom smiled at the she-cat. He wouldn't have noticed her if he hadn't heard her pawsteps through the ground, and he guessed that meant she probably wasn't out hunting. "No worries. Neither of us would've been hurt much. And I'm doing nicely today. I found some rather interesting specimen." He purred, eyes shining gently. Despite the fact that Breathwhisp had not been born into Thunderclan, he knew he owed his life to the cat in front of him. Had she and her warriors not taken him in, he would have had no place to turn. Well, I supposed I could've gone looking for father, but I would've had a 25% chance of finding him. One, our old home is miles away from here. And two, I don't even know if he's alive or not. Oh, and three; he always was a terrible hunter, so he probably starved. Oh well, he's in a better place now, and so am I. He smiled at the black she-cat despite the confusingly dark thoughts in his head. "And how about you, Silentstar? Surely you didn't come out just to see me?" There was a hint of amusement in his voice, and his black tail swayed cheerfully through the air. It was nice to talk in a friendly manner with another cat. It was as if Starclan had pitied his former loneliness and had sent him a clanmate to chat with. Awwww, how generous. I'm grateful for this favor. He tilted his head towards the sky and smiled softly before looking back at his leader.[/yellow]

Narrowing her eyes she thought about the question for a few heartbeats. Nothing had gone on today, no fights, no arguments or any problems with the cats in the clan. The day was beautiful and everything was great. Of course it wouldn't last long. Once Green-Leaf was here, Leaf-Bare would be right around the corner. That's how it was every season. "Just came out while the weather is nice," she meowed with a quick smile and a glance at the sun. It burned her eyes, and she glanced away. Thanks for that, she thought dryly. I'll remember to look at you whenever I want my eyes to burn out of my head, she joked with the sun, and it seemed to grow brighter in response. "What's the specimen?" She added. It could have been anything from a bug to a twoleg. There were always surprises with this cat.

Gingerheart stretched her painful back, relaxing her sore muscles. Every bone, every tendon, every vein was stressed and, hopelessly, she would have to let that be. Grunting with her fruitless attempts, she eyed a cat talking to a snake. But the cat had pinned it to the ground since it lashed out at him. Now the slimy creature had slithered towards protection, and she smiled. Those venomous animals could kill, with poisons not even yarrow could retract. Grimacing at the thought, she followed the tom to the undergrowth, smiling. Being bored and lonely, she decided to follow him. More stalking him, something taunted, Imagine the shock he's going to have when he sees you. Frustrated with her overruling conscious, the medicine cat spied a silvery pelt, then realized...Breathwhisp! She hadn't seen him in a little way so she left her anti-social mood and trotted quickly to where the tom was. With an enthusiastic, open emotion on her face, she enjoyed the sunlight bathing the camp with warmth and comfort and started, "Hello, Breathwisp. What are you doing here?" It wasn't an accusing question, actually quite genuine.

[yellow]Her words only caused the tom to grin wider, and his ears flicked at her curiosity. "Snakes. They're quite interesting creatures, you know." He purred, sitting down and leaning back. His eyes closed as he felt a soft breeze rustle the fronds around him, and he sighed, a soft smile on his face. It was good to just enjoy the day every now and then. To relax and let the forest bathe you in its warmth. But it is quite cold in Leaf-bare. Oh! But I remember something I tried back than. If you think about warm things like the sun, Sunningrocks, or Green-leaf, or even the dappled sunlight through the treetops, it makes you feel better. The power of the mind is an amazing thing, isn't it? Blinking, the tom's right eye focused in on the black she-cat. He still didn't have a name for her, and he realized that he should come up with one before she felt left out. How about... Silent? No, too plain. Signal? Ehh, that's wierd. Aha! His face was imprinted with a permanent smile, and he tilted his head to side. "I'm going to call you Sill from now on, if that's alright."However, another voice rang in his ears; soft and pure. Just like how honey tastes! He thought, turning around to face the cat who had called him. "Gingerheart, what a pleasure. I was observing a snake when I almost ran into Silentstar." He purred, smiling at the she-cat as he realized another nickname for the Medicine Cat. [/yellow]

''Hello," the she-cat greeted warmly. Hearing about snakes, she asked worried, "Did you get bitten?" Venom from the them would flow through the whole body, violently killing them a slow, painful death. Sometimes yarrow and aspen seeds would help, other times not. It was really unpredictable. Ignoring her fear, she turned towards a faded rainbow situated in the sky. "I love how after rain showers there's a beautiful rainbow."

[yellow]Shaking his head, he followed her gaze to the sky. "Nope. Snakes are actually quite friendly." His eyes softened as he spotted the colorful bridge of reflections. His gaze wandered from the clouds to the Medicine Cat. "Gingerheart, you know how I like nicknames, right? Well, would it be alright if I called you Honey from now on?" He purred, tail waving good-naturedly.[/yellow]

A wave of relief flooded over her, filling her up with happiness. Still unsure, she happily turned away from the rays of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. Suddenly, as his voice came again, she smiled. Breathwisp was always in a happy mood. Softly she replied, "Sure. Yous sound like...a Sunny. Don't ask me why."

[yellow]Smiling, his eyes softened. The tom's tail flicked and amber eyes seemed to glow. Or, at least, one of them did. "Hmmmm? That's a nice name. Alright, Honey and Sill. It's established." He purred, a calm happiness surrounding him. It was rather amusing how easy it was to entertain the tom. You could tell him to examine a simple blade of grass and he would become engrossed with figuring out everything about it. Whether it was how fast it grew or if it could talk with the plants around it. The tom's imagination was an endless, abundant place where the impossible could become real, so it was never hard to please Breathwhisp. [/yellow]

Gingerheart sighed. The warmth was making her lazy like she had eaten a million poppy seeds then gulped down a thousand bramble twigs. But unlike those herbs, you didn't get sick if you ate, (or in this case, stay out) too long. Her green eyes spied the blooming flowers, and thought about Foxpaw. But the apprentice probably didn't want to be bothered to collect anymore plants, she'd already done a lot. Still though there were a significant amount of herbs to still collect.
"Would you guys mind if you came collecting herbs with me?" She offered gently.

[yellow]Blinking curiously at the suggestion, he nodded, smiling at the prospect of trying something new. "Sure, I wouldn't mind. It sounds like fun." Looking over his shoulder at Silentstar, he waved his tail at the dark she-cat. "Are you coming too, Sill?" Though Breathwhisp knew about herbs just as much as he knew about what had happened to his father, he didn't mind the idea of helping Gingerheart collect them. If he could place some, even if only a few, into his memory, than it might come in handy in the near future. [/yellow]

Gingerheart nodded curtly to the warrior, then addressed Sill. She knew what befell on the job of leader, but even a little time set aside surely wouldn't really hurt? But she didn't want to pressure her, so she turned to the black she-cat and gazed at her with her green eyes for a few seconds. Finally she blinked once and replied, "Do you want to come?"

Silentstar blinked in surprise, her mind drifting off into an early memory with her brothers and her playing in the nursery. --------------------------------------------------------
"Mother! Lionkit won't share!" Owlkit complained, scampering over the ground to Nightfur and tugging on her pitch black pelt. Lionkit stopped instantly and dropped the mouse while his jaws gaped open.
"No! That's not true! I was just holding on to it!" He lied, and ran off as Owlkit leaped at him. The two toms pattered over the nursery floor and rolled on the ground in a bundle of soft kitten fluff. Silentkit watched them play-fighting with bored, uninterested, eyes, while her mother sighed and padded over, although she noticed the muscular queen's whiskers quivering with amusement.
"Stop it, both of you!" She scolded, her voice light and calm. Owlkit and Lionkit broke apart, and licked their ruffled fur. "Now be good or go out in the clearing to play around," she ordered. Lionkit glanced at her and then back at the mouse. "Catch this, Silent!" He yelped, and tossed her the mouse. Taken by surprise, she sprang up and barely caught it between her two front paws. Landing on the soft, small body of the creature she felt the warmth of the freshly caught kill beginning to face. Picking it up, she smacked it in Owlkit's face, then, giggling, she pelted around him and hid behind Lionkit who puffed out his white chest and let out a loud bellowing hiss.
"I'm a lion! You can't beat me!" He laughed and pounced on his brother. Owlkit squeaked and batted at his head, then wiggled free. He bowled into Silentkit and swatted her with two wide paws.
"I got you!" He snickered, poking her in the sides, making her squeak...
-----------------------
The memory faded like mist in sunlight, and she blinked back into reality. She saw that Gingerheart had arrived, and she felt as though she was supposed to be answering a question but she wasn't sure what. Then the Medicine Cat spoke, and she realized what she was asking. "Come? Oh, sure... Ugh, where?" She hoped she didn't sound too puzzled, although she felt very confused. Mouse-dung! She thought. Why am I drifting into unconsciousness while talking to my warriors? She wondered, flicking her black tail.

Gingerheart raised an eyebrow, noticing her quick unconsciousness that had made her un-replying. Though it was probably drifting off into a dream, usually cats didn't do that. But she shrugged it off lightly, ignoring the short moment. The medicine cat answered again, "Collecting herbs. Probably around The Sandy Hollow though. There's some very valuable medicines there."
