Palefur walked with caution over to the Snakerocks. His large and light form looked out of place against the tans and browns of the rocks. Some were gray, but far too dark for him to blend in. He would need to rely solely on stealth for this hunt. The pale cat crept toward the rocks, his ears alert to the sounds of any danger, such as the tell tale rattle of a snake. He sniffed the air slowly, taking in the earthy smells around him. One smell was easily distinguished from the rest. A mouse was hiding somewhere to Palefur's left. He turned his head, breathing the smell more deeply. It was near. He paused all movement, and listened hard. He could just hear the speedy thumps of the mouse's heartbeat. He stalked closer to its location, and as he rounded a boulder, saw the prey. He slowly approached...and then pounced! He caught the mouse in his jaws, and smiled in satisfaction.
