"Um. Well, alright. That is fair..." was all Palefur could manage. He wasn't sure just how to feel right then. His mind still felt echoes of the joy from realizing that Dremastep liked him. However, more prominent was the fear that he wouldn't live up to her standards. He thought of Breathwhisp. A kind, strong, and good hearted tom. Not to mention handsome. I'm doomed. thought Palefur's usual selfconcious side. Not yet! You stand a chance! countered the newly awakened confidence. Palefur could be little more than confused. He smiled in a kind way at Dreamstep. "Maybe we should get the prey we caught back to camp." he suggested, noticing the sun sun sinking lower into the sky above. The shadows around them lengthened. It wouldn't be long before darkness enveloped the forest, and no cat would want to be caught carrying prey in such blackness. He picked up his part of the prey, then looked at Dreamstep's. Should he offer to carry hers? Would that be kind? Or would she feel insulted by the gesture. Most warriors would be... Then again, most warriors weren't trying to win over a she-cat's heart. Palefur wanted to howl with stress. He luckily managed to hold his tongue.

"Ok fine." Dreamstep picked up her prey. She went back to where they were before and dug up her other prey. She picked it up, and found it was hard to carry it all at once. She went back to Pale fur and meowed," I have to make two trips. I have a lot of prey. I want you to came back with me when I'm done with the first trip." She hoped he didn't mind. This way she could learn more about him and that would help her decide.

Palefur was half surprised by Dreamstep's blunt request. "Of coarse!" he purred in reply. It might have caught him off guard, but that did not mean he didn't understand her intentions. She probably just wanted a reason to get to know him more. Learning more about him would make her choice easier. Palefur nervously flicked his tail once while Dreamstep wasn't looking. Oh Starclan help me! He prayed silently. What could he possibly have about him that could win this she-cat's heart? He took a deep breath. Nothing special. he admitted to himself. However, that doesn't mean I'm not a good cat! I just need to be myself, and hope for the best. If I try and act all weird, it won't pay off. the warrior thought. Palefur supposed he would just need to hope she liked him for him. Because so far, he sure did for her!

"Ok thanks." Dreamstep was happy that he hadn't refused. She went and gathered up some of her prey and figured that Palefur was doing the same. While she was collecting, she was thinking about what she could ask the male to help her. Maybe what names he liked for kits or if he even wanted kits at all. She did so that could be a big problem if he didn't.

Palefur crammed as much prey as he could into his mouth, fitting at least half quite nicely. Not necessarily comfortably, but it fit anyway...He then shifted it around a little so he could still talk through the mounds of fur and feathers. A difficult trick, but once achieved, very useful. He turned his attention once more to Dreamstep, awaiting her questions. After all, he was certain she would use this time to probe him about himself. The tom patiently waited, though his nerves didn't allow his heart to act as calmly as he did. The thing thumped rapidly against his chest. He wished desperately that cats weren't blessed with great ears, for he was sure Dreamstep must be able to hear the racket...

Dreamstep walked with Palefur her mouth filled with prey. "Sho o uo ant its," she tried to ask. She shifted the prey in her mouth so she could talk. "I'm going to wait to ask you questions until we are returning for more prey." She hoped Palefur wouldn't mind. When they reached camp Dreamstep went and put her prey in the fresh kill-pile. She went back outside camp and waited for Palefur.

Palefur nodded twice, and was rather sad for the wait. His mind swirrled with anticipation of the many things Dreamstep could ask him. What if she asked about his childhood? How could he answer without sounding sad? Without the normal rush of pain...Surely she had to know the story. Most of his clanmates did. then again, he knew he did not know hers...Palefur reached camp, dropped off his prey, and then turned around. He padded after Dreamstep, pausing only once to take a deep breath. When he reached the she-cat, he had calmed himself a little, and wore a friendly smile.

Dreamstep was excited to ask Palefur questions finally. "Ok, so do you want to have kits?" The she-cat really wanted kits so if he didn't, that would be a problem. She thought he would. but wasn't sure. She was waiting for an answer when she started walking. She walked slowly, enjoying their time together.
OOC: sorry its short....useless

OOC: Not useless. It gave me something to work with! =)
IC: Palefur was surprised for two reasons. First, Dreamstep had asked a very big question in a very matter-of-fact tone. Second, the tom was able to answer without any hesitation. "I definitely want kits one day. Soon, too, because I would love to have a family. To watch them grow up, and train, and become warriors...It would be amazing." Palefur replied, the usual nerves in his voice absent from it. He smiled at Dreamstep. His pace matched hers, and he was finding himself strangely calm. It must be how much I enjoy walking with her... The light furred warrior thought peacefully. "What about you?" he couldn't help but ask.

"Yes I would love to have kits!I always wanted to, even when I was little. I dreamed of having a happy little family." Dreamstep was a little surprised that she could be open with Palefur, but wasn't that surprised. She knew that she liked him and could be open, but didn't know if he was the one. "So do you think that kits are a pain to take care of? Or do you like the thought of raising them yourself?"
OOC:ok i hope this one does too.

Palefur smiled before answering. "I enjoy the idea of raising them for sure. Though I don't have any delusions that it would be a walk in a meadow...I was a very troublesome kit growing up. My sister and used to..." Palefur paused. He hadn't openly spoken about Glorykit in a very long time. His bright smile faltered briefly. Then he looked into Dreamstep's eyes, and thought about how much he wanted her to like him...She never will if you don't let her in! Palefur inwardly scolded himself. "We used to get into all kinds of trouble together! Always sneaking out of camp, badgering the elders for stories. We gave our mother quite a task watching us! I know, not exactly what you would expect from me." the light furred tom laughed. He felt sadness at the memories of his sister and their games, but not in the usual gut wrenching pain. More like a melancholy flash.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. I was a very troublesome kit myself. I would bug the elders and warriors and my mother would constantly tell me to stop, never succeeding." Dreamstep thought about how she used to be such a pain around camp when she was younger. She loved it when she was care-free, not caring about mates and who to choose. She missed the feeling.

Palefur smiled. "I know exactly what you mean." he purred lightly. He could recall so many days spent trailing the older cats of the clan. He would ask around one hundrend questions in a minute, and never seemed to catch on to a cat seeking privacy. He and his sister were known for being nosy, curious, and everywhere. He smiled again. These memories filled him with longing for those simple days. When his best friend still walked with him, and he needn't worry about choices that would effect his entire life. As far as things seemed to him whe he was a kit, no choice could have a permanent effect... "I miss those days." he meowed to Dreamstep.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. Those were the good days. Where you complained about changing the elders bedding and didn't have to worry about...love,"Dreamstep finally got herself to say. She looked over at Palefur and started into his eyes, seeming to get lost in them. She suddenly stopped walking. She saw her life flash in front of her like a bug and then she ran. She took off in the other direction, not caring if Palefur followed or not. She saw a nice comfy spot and sat down and began to cry. She thought about how she had screwed up things, badly. She sat there and cried, wondering if Palefur would come and find her, or if he would go back to camp and leave her alone.

Palefur was so shocked by Dreamstep's sudden burst of emotion, that he didn't even recognize what had just happened for the first second. However, when he realized that yes, the she-cat really had begun to cry and raced away, he decided to go after her. What have I got to lose? he thought to himself, ignoring the other voice in his head that replied, Her. Palefur ran after Dreamstep, sniffing the air until he found her. She sat alone in a cozy looking clearly, crying and looking thoroughly miserable. "Dreamstep..." the white tom began. He wasn't really sure what to say. After all, he couldn't fully understand what had made her so upset. She had said the word love... Palefur sat down next to her and put his tail on her shoulders. "Dreamstep." he began again. "I understand how hard a decision you need to make. I want you to know, I am not pressuring you. I feel like I love you Dreamstep, but that love also means I don't want to make you cry." Palefur meowed softly. He felt a sudden wave of sadness himself, as he realized that Dreamstep might take this as an invitation to, well, dump him. However, Palefur keep himself calm with one thought. If she will be happier for it, I haven't any real reason to complain. The tom sat with Dreamstep, stroking her shoulders gently with his tail.
