[teal]Scenting the air, the silver cat paused mid-step, allowing the forest smells to fill her mouth. However, she couldn't pick up what she was looking for, and reluctantly, she padded on. Gradually, dry earth dampened into sleek mud, and the she-cat grew cautious as she plowed through the muck.
The last thing she wanted was to be sucked down. Without any other cats around her, it would be ironic for the Medicine Cat to be doing unhealthy things. Though most cats were smart enough to stay clear of the marshes, she wasn't just entering the terrain out of the sake of boredom.
No, she had come to find a rather rare herb that had been difficult so far. It kept evading her. The usual places she found them were either strangely empty or were too premature or had already withered.
Really, what kind of Medicine Cat are you? Can't even find watermint in your own territory.
Sighing heavily, the beautiful Shadowclanner halted, cringing slightly as the sticky mud clung to her pelt. Scenting the air once more, she could only pick up the soiled scent of the ground around her. However, as she searched deeper through the numerous trails, her eyes widened and she smiled. It was faint, but still there.
Though it was more difficult as the mud got deeper, the she-cat was driven on by her determination, and she finally pulled herself from the murky depths, face to face with the large green leaves she'd been searching for.
Lately, with Green-leaf and all, the prey was running plentifully. Which meant that cats were eating more, which resulted in warriors complaining of stomach aches. But with watermint, there was nothing to worry about anymore. Smiling, she plucked as many stems as she could carry before standing up again.
I wonder though... Hardly anyone comes to these marshes unless they're looking for frogs. So why is this even a part of Shadowclan Territory? I mean, I'm not complaining. It's a perfect spot for herbs. But I doubt that's what the first Shadowclan leader thought when making the borders.
