[maroon]Making sure to keep his distance from the edge, the tom sighed heavily, hoping no cat would see him and his fear of water. Blinking green eyes, Thornstrike wasn't even sure where he was going, or why he had left camp in the first place. It was a sunny day, the Green-leaf sun shining high in the sky despite the mixture of twisted, knotted emotions in the tom. He wasn't even sure if he could call them feelings. Inside, he just felt like a puddle of mud. Every now and then, it bubbled, as though something were struggling to come out, and then it was swallowed up again in the murky, sloppy depths. "Uggg..." He grumbled aloud, eyes lacking enthusiasm as he slouched into an unwilling trot. Further more, he had dragged himself out of camp when he could be laying down, warming his pelt with the sun. But nooooo; instead, his paws had forced him to leave camp, and he was stuck out here. He couldn't very well go back to camp. His clanmates would think him crazy for coming out for a short time and then returning. Right now, they probably thought he was off doing some early hunting. If he returned empty-pawed, they'd probably chase him out and make him bring back something for their hungry stomaches. "Lazy toads." He muttered, though he smiled slightly as he thought of his clan. However, when he looked up, his eyes widened as he spotted where the cliffside dipped down and led into Riverclan territory. Slowly, he walked over to the border, halting and staring into the depths of the terrain. I wonder why I ended up here... This is where I faught with those Riverclanners. Thymemoon was upset about it or something. His thoughts flickered to the tabby she-cat. She had seemed... Different, yet not really in a bad or a good way. He couldn't pinpoint it, but something about her kept him from shouting in her face yet at the same time prevented him from calling her a friend. Ha! That'll be the day. Thornstrike's got a friend. He smirked slightly, though some strange part of him sat him down and made the tom wait for the she-cat, or any cat, to come along. [/center][/maroon]

]Thymemoon walked up, feeling drawn to this place. she slowed when she saw Thornstrike and then quickly trotted up to him. Hello Thornstrike! Have you found the one you are looking for yet? she asked entuciastically. She felt like, he was someone she could tell everything to. She sat down and washed her ears, while listening for Thoenstrike's reply.

[maroon]Nearly jumping out of his fur, the tom's head spun to face the voice. However, as he recognized the she-cat's face, his alarm instantly vanished. Well, what do you know. Speak of the devil. Staring at the she-cat for several moments, he felt awkward. Compared to her cheerful look, he might as well be the grim reaper. "No. Not yet..." He meowed, unsure whether to say more or not. It was rather funny, actually. He had never really payed much attention to any one she-cat in particular. But now as he found himself speaking one on one again with the deputy, he could not help but notice that her eyes, along with her personality, seemed to reflect how the world was filled with unique things. Blinking, he cursed himself under his breath. This was no time to be thinking about unnecessary things. "Night. A tall tom with pitch black fur and a white mark on his chest. Violet blue eyes. If you see him, I'd rather you not tell me. I wouldn't want his death to weigh heavy on your consience." He meowed, voice calm yet adapting its former coldness. [/center][/maroon]

I did tell you about me past right? You know I can handle that. I've taken cat's lives before! During fights... when I was a kit..... she said, thinking about the good days. her mind started going into a dreamy haze and she smiled as she thought about the image of her blood-soaked parents. All of a sudden, images of the fight broke into her thoughts again and caught her off guard. She fell to the ground in a heap and whimpered.

[maroon]The tom was silent as she spoke, his ears catching onto each of her words. However, when she suddenly broke down, his eyes widened and he took a step forward before catching himself just in time. He didn't want to risk crossing the border. After all, it could be a trap. But then he thought about what the she-cat had said, and he reconsidered. No cat's that good of an actor. Eyes narrowed in concern, he halted at the border, which was as close as he would go. He'd already gotten into trouble with Heraldstar for the fight, and though he had seemed to not care, his leader's opinion meant a lot to him. "Hey..." He meowed, lost for words to comfort the she-cat. Falling quiet again, he searched for what to say. "You know... I can't, well, help you unless I know what's wrong... I know you committed murder when you were a kit, but then you found some other reason to change your ways... So why are you hurt now?" [/center][/maroon]

I don't really know, but the sences from the battle still haunt me. I think because in one split second.... she trailed off, to scared to go on. I wanted to kill you. she finished in her head. she shivered and sighed. I-I lost control and wanted to...... err.... don't be mad.... kill you. she sighed and looked away from him.

[maroon]Blinking, he wasn't sure what he felt at first. A bit of a funny feeling, and then he felt the overpowering urge to laugh. In the end, he couldn't help but chuckle as he looked at the she-cat. When he had finally stopped laughing, he gave her a small smile. "Well, that's no surprise. Any cat would want to kill someone who was threatening their friends. Besides, even if you don't see it that way, you managed to suppress yourself and not fall to my level. Brave, maybe." He meowed, staring at the she-cat with more than just sincerity. And when he realized he was looking at her with warmth, he blinked and looked away, cursing under his breath. Tay had always said feelings were a weakness. Bane had felt loyalty towards his family and it had resulted in his death. If he allowed himself to grow attatched to someone easily, then it meant he'd learned nothing from his past. [/center][/maroon]

She turned around to see him cursing under his breath and sighed, then laughed quietly. I don't like it Thornstrike.... I just don't like it.... she knew he probably didn't know what it meant when she said that but she felt like she could just tell him everything on her mind. She knew she couldn't tell him EVERYTHING...... but she really wanted to.

[maroon]Looking back at the she-cat, he tried making sense of her words. She didn't like it... What didn't she like? That she felt the urge to kill me, even if it was only for a split second? Green eyes narrowed slightly before returning to normal, and he felt he should say something, anything, to make the she-cat leave her depression. But he was just a tom, and she was just a she-cat. There wasn't much for him to do to deprive her of whatever it was that troubled her. And it's not like I can enter her mind and pretend that the battle never happened... Wait, why do I even care about what she thinks? Blinking, he realized that he had lied to himself. He'd told himself a million times over that there was no gain in worrying about others, that in the end it all came down to who lived and who died. But in reality, he was unable to ignore that he still felt a connection to his clan and this she-cat, in the way that he would give his life to protect them. The same life he had once sworn to be the only one he would fight for. And yet, he had still been unable to fulfill the promise he'd made to himself and Jack. "Well... It's never a good thing to want death... I know that at least... But the point is, you didn't let that take over you, which is enough to tell you you can trust yourself, really..." He meowed hesitantly, not really sure where his words were coming from. [/center][/maroon]

She looked at the tom and sighed. I was thinking of how I find that I can tell you everything.... and I don't really find that funny more than I find that scary. I don't really tell people much about me... because of my past ya know. It bothers me that I just want to ramble on to you. she looked down and sighed as she sat at the border again.

[maroon]Staring at the she-cat, he wondered vaguely to himself, Exactly. Why is she telling me all this? However, he couldn't really say he disliked it. Of course, he had a feeling he would never truly and fully understand the she-cat's words, but it had been a long time since a cat had ever confided in him, and strangely, it felt good, as though there was someone close enough that he could share his own secrets with. Brushing it aside, he reminded himself that feelings were of little use in this world. Jack, the one cat who he had ever trusted in, and the one cat who had ever completely trusted him, was now dead. Thornstrike wasn't searching for his brother's replacement. He didn't need anyone to fill in what was already gone. Still, this she-cat reminded him of how Jack had similar thoughts as him, yet always had trouble speaking them aloud, much unlike Thorn. Thorn... When was the last time I was called by that name? Tay never said, 'Jack, Thorn, come over here.' No... It was always, 'You two', or a crude nickname such as 'Dirt-face, get over here!' There never was a time when she wasn't yelling at us or some creature that didn't exist. Narrowing his eyes, he cleared away the memories. "Well... It's not like this would make it any better, but I could tell you a little about myself... Not like I care or anything, but just to make up for you telling me... You know, so that we've spent up an equal amount of each other's time or something..." He meowed, looking away as he spoke. [/center][/maroon]

[maroon]The tom gave her a stare as if to say, 'You must have bees in your brain.' But instead, he sighed and said slowly, "Alright. I cam from a kingdom far away from here. It was run by my father, Bane, and my mother, Tay. I lived there with my uncles, aunts, cousins, and my brother, Jack. It was a fairly content life-style, until my uncle, Moon, decided he was better than my father, and he murdered his own brother. Tay, Jack and I were exiled, so we lived in the woods for a while. My mother died of Green-cough, and Jack and I were taken in by a group of cats who planned on annhialating Moon's side of the family. Naturally, I wanted vengance, so Jack and I joined them. When we had gathered a large enough force, we attacked and killed all of them but one. My cousin, Night. He ran, fled. I chased after him but it stormed that night, so I went back to our camp-site to learn that Jack had died from blood-loss. The next day I began searching for Night, finally chasing him here. Yes, I'm still hunting for him, and though I have a feeling he's joined the Rouges, I'm not 100% sure, so I'm just waiting for now." He meowed, stating everything rather nonchalantly despite the admittance to murder and pain. Strangely, he no longer felt a reason to hold back as he spoke to the she-cat. Rather, he felt as though she was the only one he should tell, which made him feel even stranger. [/center][/maroon]

Thymemoon started at him in awe. That is quite a history!I wish my history was that intersting! she purred. she was a little scared, and hoped it didn't show in her eyes. she was happy he trusted her more than her fear. she kept purring and thought suddenly. I want to help! she declared. I want to help you kill Night! she knew if he said yes, there was no going back, yet strangly, she didn't care.

[maroon]The tom blinked and his eyes widened. Her words left him rather speechless for once, and he struggled to say something, knowing he would never forgive himself if he didn't get in the last word. In the end, all he could muster was, "What?!" Rather, he didn't really say it. He nearly shouted it in shock at the she-cat's reaction, and he had to quiet himself as his voice died down. The last thing he wanted was a Riverclan patrol coming along and seeing him, Thornstrike, talking with Thymemoon as though they were the best of friends. "No. I refuse your request." He meowed in an extremely straight-forward manner, coming across the decision that he wasn't going to let this she-cat get hurt because of him. Blinking, he quickly corrected his thoughts, instead thinking that he wouldn't let her get in his way. It's not like he should care if she got hurt, he reminded himself, though deep inside he felt a part of him arguing with that conclusion. [/center][/maroon]
