Staring up at the sky as he walked, the tom lowered his gaze once more, heading towards the shelter he and Minx had taken during the storm. He'd woken up early in order to hunt, and no as he approached the den with a fat vole dangling from his jaws, he wondered if the she-cat had woken up yet. He smiled to himself as he recalled their earlier conversations, and how she had seemed more then reluctant to turn down each and every one of his questions. Still, he hadn't given up hope that she might let him get to know her better, and, slowing to a stop, he dropped the piece of prey by the shelter before turning to collect a pawful of moss. As he walked towards a fresh patch and tore up several clumps with his claws, he couldn't help but wonder. Even though the she-cat had said she wanted nothing to do with her past, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to it. He wanted to know, badly, why it was she could no longer recall her own history. But he resisted the urge to turn around and question her further. He had a feeling the she-cat didn't like him, and though that darkened his happiness, he reminded himself that most cats didn't and never would like him. Or at least the ones from his former kingdom. Carrying the moss over and back to the shelter, he set it down, sitting beside it and watching Minx. Luckily, it had rained the night before and the fungai had soaked up the liquid. If it hadn't, the tom wasn't sure he would've been able to provide her with fresh water. He didn't know of many nearby rivers or streams, and he was hesitant to go all the way onto the clan territories and leave Minx on her own for so long.

Still in the same spot as the previous night, Minx still laid fast asleep oblivious to the fact that Night had gone. Her fur was ruffled and full of mud as she had been twisting and turning while she drempt, her lip curled into a silent snarl. Every once and a while one of her paws would twitch, or she would let out muffled groans of anger and pain, heart racing as her mind threw her into a nightmare of terror.
She was running, her legs and paws aching as she bolted along the cold unnatural ground underneath her. Behind her darkness swallowed up every step left behind and she had to speed forward just so she wouldn't be sucked up into the shadows. Lungs ready to burst, she gasped for air, pale green eyes wide as moons and blood pounding in her ears. Now the blackness was licking at her heels, threating to engulf her into its clutches. Muscles pumping harder, Minx pulled herself forward wondering if the long hallway would ever end. Than suddenly for no apparent reason, the floor fell from beneath her and before she knew it, the black loner was falling deeper and deeper into the abbess. Jaws parting in a yowl of horror, her body twisted helplessly as she was sent spinning and twisting, the light above shrinking until she could see nothing. Just when it seemed she would be falling forever, Minx hit the ground with a loud thump, the breath leaving her body. Sides heaving, she struggled to recover, amazed that she could survive such a drop. Lifting herself to her paws, she looked around only to find that walls enclosed her on all four sides. Panic erupting in her chest she took a few steps backward, when she saw it. Tall and looming, a two-leg, twice the size than normal was standing before her wearing a strange unnatural white pelt that fell to the floor. Screeching in horror Minx stumbled back wards as the two-legs reached for her, its hairless paw open and ready to grasp her. "No..." Minx whispered fearfully, "no leave me alone!" But the two-leg refused to listen and instead reached out farther, finger tips nearly touching her. Shaking with anger the black she-cat snarled, "no, no! NO! You'll never take me again!" Than without warning she lept forward, claws extended...
Jolting awake, Minx let an angry yowl split the air as she looked around wildly. Like in her dream, her heart pounded and she snapped her head to and fro looking for the forbidding grasp that had come to capture her. Suddenly she spotted a blurry black shape and in her craze, rose clumsily to her feet. "I said get away from me!" Minx growled savagely before throwing herself at Night the memory of her nightmare still fresh in her mind.

The tom didn't have time to be surprised as an ear-splitting yowl shattered the silence. Eyes widening, his body tensed, but he was too slow to evade as the she-cat suddenly sprang forward. For a split second, he thought he saw fear flash through her eyes, but he didn't have time to tell as pain from the collision sent him crashing backwards and into the ground, her words ringing in his ears. Pictures. Faces. Flickering unrealistically in front of him. He thought he saw himself, standing there, the bodies of his family members strewn across the clearing. Blood splashed across his own muzzle and paws. Pain, horror, agony. All at once, the feelings exploded inside him, his throat closing and choking him off from his air supply. And then his instincts kicked in. The same ones that had caused him to end another cat's life in order to protect the family that would only die anyways. The tom's eyes burned with a strange, darker blue hue, and suddenly, the tom's hindlegs slammed hard straight at Minx's underbelly as the fighting instincts he'd inherited from his father began to slowly consume him. Thrashing about, Minx spat viciously, claws raking whatever came to her aim her only want being to sink them into the giant paw. The sounds of her own snarling rang in her ears and the loner felt her fur rise along her spine, tail lashing. When suddenly she felt a heavy force slam into her belly sending her flying across the clearing where she flopped hard as a stone on the earth. Surprised and lost for breath, she lay still for a moment, her twisted back paw roaring with pain. Now unmoving, she gulped in the fresh forest air and quickly realized that she could no longer scent the place in her dream, nor the two-leg. Calming down, she slowly raised her head to look around. Unsuprisingly, she was in the same clearing she had fallen asleep in before, and on the other side stood...Night, fire flickring in his eyes. Confused and shaken, the she-cat shook her head, disbelief showing on her features. "I...you..." Minx sputtered quitely, pale green gaze locked on Night as her body trembled.

Jolting upwards as the she-cat was thrown across the clearing, he stood, claws unsheathed, breathing coming heavier than before, fangs gleaming. A wave passed through him, and suddenly the tom had the overwhelming need to bite through the cat's flesh and feel blood spill onto his paws. He felt himself slipping, a dark, comforting feeling wrapping around him as the fire burned more fiercely. All of a sudden, he was struggling, what was left of his self-control fighting back against the blood-lust that was dragging him down. Blinking, the flames vanished from his eyes and he was staring in shock at the she-cat, trying to remember what had just happened. Minx had attacked him and... "Minx! Are you alright?" He meowed, running over to the she-cat's side and crouching next to her, eyes wide with concern. At first, he didn't want to accept it. His body and mind kept denying what he had done, but he knew he had hurt the she-cat, and he would never forgive himself for putting her life on the line. But what was that feeling? That horrible feeling of wanting to kill? I faught it this time, just barely, but it frightened me... Even scarier, is that I wanted to let it take control. Shuddering, he stared down at the loner, violet eyes flickering as he feared for her safety.

Narrowing her eyes as Night approached her, Minx bared her teeth in a snarl, he had wanted to kill her! She had seen it...seen it in his body motions and in his eyes, the same want to kill that possesed her. Struggling to her paws, she took a few wobbly steps away from him. Now Realizing what she had done...what he had done, the black she-cat snorted. "Ha I knew you where never as perfect as you played yourself out to be!" She spat accusingly, snarled black tail lashing back and forth. Somehow it angred her that he had waited until now to show his true colors. Ears laid flat against her head, she hissed and limped farther away. "I don't need your help if it endangers my life," Minx growled before turning to leave.

The tom winced visibly at her words, and he stood back to give her room as she rose. Though he didn't say it, pain tore at his insides. He wanted to tell the she-cat that he hadn't meant to, that he was defending himself. But he couldn't lie, not like that. Besides, he had nothing to say in his defense. He'd been ready to kill her, and for some strange reason he'd been able to control himself this time. But there was no telling what would happen if he felt it again and was unable to stop it. His ears folded back, and the shame and hurt was reflected clearly in his eyes. "Minx..." He murmured, knowing there was no further point in trying to openly assist the she-cat. He waited for a while until she had left his sight, and then he started walking, following her trail. Even if she wouldn't let him help her straight-forward, he would assist the loner from the shadows. Now he knew why he hadn't wanted to hurt her, why he couldn't get her out of his mind. As strange as it seemed, he knew he was falling for the disagreeable cat, and it hurt him with more agony than he had ever felt when she had walked away. Even if she couldn't feel the same way towards him after what he'd done, he wouldn't leave the she-cat on her own. He still needed to help her, and with this thought in mind, he tracked the she-cat down by her scent, eyes never losing the lost look they held.

Relieved that he didn't try to stop her, Minx grumbled to herself and truged out of the clearing, not even bothering to look back to see the pain on his face. What did it matter? He had probably wanted to kill her the whole time. "An assassin, thats what he was! Sent by one of the weakling cats that I've tried to kill before...he was just waiting for the right moment!" She thought sourly, mind racing with ideas. Yet no matter how hard she tried...no matter how hard to tried to make herself belive he hadn't intended to hurt her, she couldn't get it through. How could a cat so willing to help suddenly turn just like that? "There all like that!" She growled outloud to herself, wincing as her sore paw bumped the ground, "fakes...traitors..." Heatedly she swung her ugly black head back and forth, eyes narrowed at the ground. In her anger, Minx slashed out at the trunk of a young tree, grazing a scar across its weak bark unaware of her follower.

Eyes cast at the ground as he followed her, he wondered what the she-cat must be thinking. She hadn't seemed to want his help in the beggining, but what must she be feeling now? Probably that I betrayed her, or something along the lines of that. Sighing, he stared off into the distance as he walked, throat dry as he wondered how things had changed so quickly. He wasn't bloodthirsty. No, he would never just attack a cat out of the blue for the sake of satisfying his agression. It had only shown itself when he was protecting someone or being attacked. He'd been trying to save his family when it had come up, and he had been attacked by Minx earlier. What he couldn't figure out was whether or not he was trying to protect himself or Minx. The bloodwrath never showed up when just he himself was in danger. By kicking Minx away, had he been defending her, trying to put as much distance between them in case he lost complete control? He couldn't be sure, but he hoped that was it. Well, it's too late now. She hates me even more than she did before, and I doubt I can ever change that. His eyes clouded sadly and he paused as he heard the sound of claws scraping against something. It was probably Minx taking out her anger on a tree or rock, and he wondered if he had really hurt her mentally that much.

Yanking tree bark out of her claws, the black she-cat growled deeply and turned around before continuing on her way. Now that she was up, she suddenly realized how hungry she was, though the thought of trying to hunt made her cringe. Leg stiff, Minx hung her head. When she thought about eating, the memory of Night's smiling face as he feed her came to mind. "I don't need him...I don't need anybody!" She mumbled to herself, tail lashing behind her. To full of anger, Minx didn't notice the approaching root protruding from the earth until it was to late. Letting out a yowl of surprise, she went tumbling head over tail down a small slope. Yowling in shock, she landed with a heavy thud, the leaves scattering around her. Trying to catch her breath, Minx scrambled back to her paws, grass hanging from her pelt. Fuming she snorted and walked a few paces. That's when she heard it. Like the ringing sound of stone smashing against stone something below her snapped and before she knew it steel jaws clamped around her injured back leg. Eyes widening in horror and blinding pain, Minx let out a loud screech, the sound echoing through the forest. Twisting around, she stared gaping at the two leg trap secured tightly around her limb, and instantly she began to struggle. Digging deep into the skin, she spat at the horrible pain, crimson blood staining the ground below her. Minx was stuck.

[D= OWCH! Poor Minx! It's not like I hate hunters or anything, but traps that slowly kill the animal (snares, bear traps, exc.) are horrible!] The tom was following the she-cat with a good distance between them when all of a sudden a shriek split the morning air and his eyes widened. For a moment, his body froze as his mind registered what was happening, and as soon as he realized the cry sounded vaguely like Minx's voice, his limbs kicked off the ground, sending the tom sprinting through the woods at a break-neck speed. Paws kicking up leaves as he ran, all he could focus on was finding the she-cat and demolishing whatever it was that was causing her all this pain. He didn't care if he had to kill or rip out its guts, he wouldn't even mind if he lost his own life. Right now, the she-cat was in obvious agony, and he would never forgive whatever was the cause of her dissaray. When he spotted a familiar dark pelt up ahead, he felt panick swell inside him like a fresh hornet sting, and he picked up speed, fear stabbing his heart. "MINX!!!" He shouted, skidding to a halt as he finally reached the she-cat. His heart pounded frantically, though more from anxiety than exhaustion. Limbs trembling as he hurried over to the she-cat, he crouched down, eyes falling on the steel jaws that had buried themselves deep into the she-cat's leg. He forced himself not to recoil at the blood drenching her fur, and he eyed the metal, following it down until it buried itself deep within the ground. "Don't move." He meowed, voice dead serious, and, unsheathing his claws, he latches his talons onto the inside of the trap, holding down the outside with his hindlegs as he pulled forcefully, putting all his strength into freeing the she-cat's leg. The tom had seen this device once before. The twolegs that had lived around the outskirts of his former home had often walked through the territory, setting up the curious metal jaws here and there across the territory; obscurring them from view by throwing leaves over. At first, he and his siblings had been curious towards the strange object, and Leaf had poked it with one paw. And then, all of a sudden, the jaws snapped shut around her foreleg. All he could remember was her terrified scream mixed in with a sharp yowl of pain. While he had watched in horror, Claw had raced back to find Moon, and their father and all their kin had rushed over. However, it was Moon who had freed his daughter; grabbing the inside bottom of the trap and, with enough pressure, pulling it up just enough until the jaws were pulled open and the she-cat was freed. He would never forget the twisted look of agony on his sister's face though, and as Night slowly and painfully pried the trap open, he couldn't help but feel glad that Minx's hindleg had been caught rather than her forepaw. This way, he didn't have to see the pain reflected on her face. Though his muscles screamed at him to rest, he knew that if he did, the jaws would just clamp back down and all his effort would be wasted. Not to mention it would close back down on Minx, which would result in even more pain for the loner. The tom felt as though his claws were being ripped out one by one, but he somehow managed to keep them hooked securely under the central metal plate as the jaws slowly loosened, gradually yet barely opening. Pain and weariness threatened to make him let go, but as he pulled with great strenuous effort, the jaws parted more, and in the same instant, the tom, though out of breath, managed to say, "Alright, pull your leg out. No matter how much it hurts, this is as far as I can open it. Hurry and pull your leg out Minx!" Voice sounding more like a strained hiss as his limbs felt tingly, his body began trembling as his muscles cried out in protest, and with horror, he felt his claws slowly slipping as his grip began sliding off the metal. If he was going to free the she-cat, she had to move quickly. But Night wasn't sure how fast she could manage with her leg in tatters and her body and mind probably still in shock from the pain. Too shocked to breath correctly, Minx let out short gasps of air, panic raging inside of her like trapped wolf. She knew it was a two-leg object that had captured her, its stench was all over and if she hadn't been in such pain, she would have mently scolded herself for not paying attention. Yet just at the scent of the two-legs, the loner felt her body freeze up, blood pounding hard and hot in her ears. "They can't take me....they can't! NEVER!" Her mind screamed at her, but no matter how hard she tried, nothing would free her. Jaw clenching, she closed her eyes tight, trying to block out the hot tears streaming down her scarred face. Her mind to focused on the pain coursing up her hind-leg, she didn't register he crashing of undergrowth until she heard the voice. At first she wasn't sure wether to be ferious, or relived that Night had been following her, but either way she couldn't do a thing about it. When he began to work feriously at the steel teeth pinned in her foot, Minx could hardly notice, claws digging deep into the earth as she let out short gurgling cries. "Alright, pull your leg out. No matter how much it hurts, this is as far as I can open it. Hurry and pull your leg out Minx!" For a long dragging moment, Minx didn't reply, to filled with fear. Just the thought of being back in the hands of two-legs of that...place, made her shiver. When she finely realized that she could pull her paw free, Nights grasp was already slipping. Shaking her head madly, the black she-cat fell forward, her back foot realising itself from the cold steel. Collapsing on the ground, she lay still, eyes wide while her sides heaved.

For a moment, the tom was filled with dread as the she-cat seemed to overwhelmed with shock to react, but it didn't take long until she regained her senses somewhat and pulled free of the trap.Unsheathing his claws, the tom quickly lept backwards, skittering on the ground as the metal jaws shut tight once more, only, this time, on empty air. Panting, he lay there for several moments before standing and hurrying over to the she-cat. Sniffing the puncture wounds on her leg, he looked up at the she-cat, staring with concern. "Minx, are you alright?" He meowed, and the black cat wasn't talking about her limb. He could see the terror in the she-cat's eyes, and the stains where tears had run down the normally stone-faced she-cat's face.

Trembling like a wind brushed leaf, Minx stared up at him through narrowed eyes. "Get...get away!" She snarled, though her eyes where blurry with tears of pain. Though her foot was bleeding scarlet onto the grass, the black she-cat ignored it, her jaw clenched. Why did he have to see her like this? No cat should have to see her like this! Growling deep in her throat, she looked away, one good ear laid flat against her skull. So he had been following her the whole time? Angry at herself for letting this happen, she glared at the ground, the scent of two-leg still fresh in her nose. She would know the scent anywhere, and honestly she just wanted to get as far away as possible.

The tom heard her, and his eyes flickered faintly. He didn't have to feel hurt right now. Even if the she-cat had sent him away before, right now she was only desperate to get away. He knew she was. The look in her eyes was the same emotion he had felt seeing his family's body strewn around him, littering the ground and left for crowfood. All he'd wanted to do was get away. He'd ran, ran faster than ever before in his life, and he'd never looked back. Was Minx feeling the same way? Did she want to run? Would she run if her leg wasn't lame? He wasn't sure, but one thing was definite. He wasn't going to listen to her this time. He wasn't going to leave her. That was absolute. "I know you're hurting more than I can understand at the moment, but you need to listen to me! Don't make so much noise or the twolegs might come back. If you stay quiet, I can make a temporary bandage for your leg and then I can get you out of here. I'll bring you far away from the twolegs so that they can never get you. Ok? You just have to hang in there." He meowed, voice serious as he stood, racing through the trees, black pelt a mixture of darkness in the woods. He wasn't sure where he was going to find cobwebs, but he knew that he needed to locate them somewhere. It didn't matter if it meant sneaking into a twoleg's item den, or slipping into a cave filled with dogs. No, don't be so rash. If you get hurt, who'll help Minx? All he knew was that he had to keep the twolegs from finding her. Even if somehow they wanted to help as they sometimes rarely did, he knew the she-cat was terrified of them, and he wasn't going to risk making her feel that fear. Picking up speed, his legs sent him flying across the ground until he suddenly recognized the scent of Riverclan. This only propelled him forward at a faster rate, and he couldn't even feel the ground as he spotted the river up ahead. Paws shattering the otherwise fairly calm surface, he ignored the icey water around him and soon the tom had pulled himself across and began running even harder into Thunderclan territory. Snake Rocks is what it's called I think... Soon, he could see the clearing ahead. He'd been here before; when he'd fled from Thorn, he'd crossed through this territory. Luckily, he'd been so tired than that he'd managed to pay attention to his surroundings, and now as his paws sent him leaping over and around the boulders with their deadly residents, he scrambled into the cave. Hurriedly, he swathed his tail full of a thick wad of cobwebs before turning and racing out once more. However, in his rush, the tom's hindleg slipped sideways and twisted painfully. Cursing under his breath, he ran on, oblivious as a snake's head shot out, fangs closing a whisker's length from the tom's achilles tendon. Leaving Snake Rocks behind him, he sprinted as hard as he could, soon splashing his way across the river and then back through Riverclan Territory and towards Minx. Running harder than ever before, moving even faster than when Thorn had chased him, his legs pumped hard until he could see the familiar woods up ahead. The forest where that she-cat was currently in. The clearing where Minx was laying. The spot where his love had fallen. Charging through the undergrowth, he ignored the brambles and thorns that raked his pelt unmercifully, and he stumbled only when one stem whipped into his eye. Still, he pushed on, tripping and twisting his paws on roots and vines yet running on. Then he scented it; the she-cat's scent, and the overpowering smell of blood. Tensing, he skidded to a halt as he rushed into the clearing, crouching down before her and carefully binding the webs around her injury, being cautious not to put too much pressure on the sensitive wound. That was when the tom's long run suddenly caught up to him. His lungs suddenly felt like exploding, and pain blossomed through-out his body as his eye stung like fire, growing watery as his paws throbbed with pain. However, the only thing that let him fight his own suffering was the thought that Minx was going through much more agony than him and standing up on stiff limbs, he pulled the she-cat by her scruff rather unceremoniously. Though he didn't like the idea of dragging her and her injured limb, he knew he was too small to carry the she-cat on his back. Night was a tall cat, yes, but he didn't have broad shoulders and a muscular body like Minx. Looking around, he spotted a fairly large leaf that was most certainly bigger then himself, and, setting it on the ground, dragged the she-cat without grace onto it. Then, digging his fangs into the base of the stem, he carefully pulled the heavy burden along, praying with all his might that the leaf wouldn't break until he'd brought her a safe way from the trap. "Sorry Minx. This is the best I can do now. You'll be safe though; I won't let them get you. Trust me." He meowed through gritted teeth. [There are seriously leaves that big... In Hawaii xDDD]
