"About the Clans?" She asked emptily, her heart sinking. While staring confusingly at Night settling near the wall, her temper rose in a growl now forming in her throat. Nothing could ever remove her hate of the Clans, only burden it. Night was somewhat comforting, but she'd never, ever like the Clans. That's because he's got a cousin in them.

A bitter pain ached inside him, and he had to restrain himself from curling into a ball and allowing the agony to defeat him. If I lose to it, I won't be able to save myself again. He bit back the emotions, yet they still swarmed inside him; an irritated wave trying to break free of its sea cave. But it hurts... And who am I supposed to turn to? My family is gone, I can not make friends. Not with the grudges that follow me like a storm cloud. I am... Truly alone... The harsh realization sent a shudder through the tom, and his eyes were cast with an agonized shadow until he straightened up, chasing away his pain. "I..." He stopped as he heard how weak his voice sounded. Trembling, tired, exhausted, worn away. Blinking, he remained silent until his voice returned to normal. "I don't understand what it means to hate something so strongly, so I can not say that I can ever stop your feelings. However, I have a cousin in the clans, and if your hate turns to violence towards them, I am going to have to ask you not to strike out." His voice was still soft, and his eyes wavered with a sad, lost, look. Despite everything he had lost, Thorn was still his family, even if the tom wanted to kill him. He was the closest thing he had left to a friend, if anyone would understand the lost emotions in Night, it would be the blood-thirsty yet confused Windclan warrior. Strange. I still can't call him by his warrior name. I wonder if he even knows I'm a part of the Rouges now.

''You're not the boss of me!" Elodie reached and lashed out her temper to her greatest. This time, she didn't regret her actions, and she blasted them at full effect. Just because Night had differing opinions, it didn't mean he could control everybody else too. But of course he'd always stay calm and make her look like the fool. "If I go and kill some cat, you couldn't be able to stop me! So...just GO AWAY! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" She shrieked, hissing too.

At first, a look of hurt crossed over the tom's face, and his ears folded back at her words. However, almost instantly, he was smiling again, and he stood up, never breaking eye contact from Elodie. "Alright, if that's what you want. But later on, please think carefully about what you just said. About killing..." Turning around, he stepped out of the den. It felt strange; the sudden change in temperature. The den had been warm, but as he felt the icy rain fall onto his pelt, he had to prevent himself from shuddering at the climate's difference. Yet, rather than walking away, he sat down and stationed himself outside the den, sitting beside the entrance so that she couldn't see him but could still hear his voice. "Is it alright if I sit here but just don't say anything?" He meowed softly, voice barely audible above the storm. At that moment, he was thankful that he had his father's sleek coat. Though he was still getting drenched, it kept the water from completely soaking through his fur.

Elodie hissed in annoyance. Toms would never do exactly what you wanted them to do, instead muddle and confuse it. That's what was really ticked cats off. She grunted, then finally replied, "You better not talk." She felt almost hurt about her outburst, she wouldn't really kill...would she?

[Lol. xD] Smiling softly, the tom leaned back, closing his eyes. He could feel the rain running down his muzzle and throat until it trailed down the white splash on his chest. It was strange how such a cold, harsh cloud could bring peace of mind. "Ok, I won't talk." He murmured, recalling how similar Elodie seemed to his sister, Leaf. They both are capable of great passion, but they also had a temper. And they knew what it was like to feel pain both emotionally and physically... I miss you Leaf; why didn't you run when Claw told us to? Blinking his violet pools open, he lowered his head, staring at the ground for several moments. A puddle had formed at his paws, but ripples shattered his reflection as raindrop after raindrop fell; obscurring his vision.

"Really? I just heard you talk." Elodie kind of meant to pick a fight, though she was too exhausted to care what she said. She saw the dark clouds swimming through the pitch dark sky. Perpetual tears of pain dropped down madly, echoing after melting into the ground. She felt a veil wrapped around her, protecting her from the cold.

Blinking, the tom's eyes widened as he realized he had unintentionally gone against her request. "Oh, I guess you're right." Recognizing that he had done it again, he meowed, "Oh," Then, thinking better of it, he closed his mouth and leaned backwards against the outside of the den, staring up at the sad sky. Awww, don't feel lonely. You're not the only one crying.

Elodie lazily rolled her eyes. She sighed after a few moments, giving up on the silence. She waited as the quiet hung a veil over them, then finally groaned. The queen wasn't really used to not talking, whether it was gossip, chit-chat, arguing, teasing etc. Her soft blue eyes dripped tears into a puddle, where the cat could almost see Storm smiling at her. She smiled.

Tilting his head to the side, the tom stared at the dark sky. Storm clouds billowed left and right, and he noted how it didn't seem that it would blow over anytime soon. Memories of a cold, rainy night filled his mind. He was in the clearing where he and his family always ate. ----------- Streak and Claw were joking by a hawthorn bush; conversing about why Melody was such a clumsy hunter. Leaf was off to one side, chatting with Scree and Blacky, while Raven and Static were sharing a squirrel. He could hear his mother, Rain, stand up as Moon entered the premises. Each cat nodded to their king in turn, and Night stood up, smiling at his father. The dark tom glanced proudly at his son before padding over to sit beside Hawk. Biting into a sparrow, Night was chewing thoughtfully when the bushes ahead rustled, and a familiar figure stumbled into the clearing. It was Iris, his cousin. She bleeding from numerous gashes on her pelt, and her left hindleg was twisted at a grutesque angle. Instantly, Hawk and Blacky rushed over to their sister, while Raven gasped at the sight of her tattered daughter. Eyes wide with shock at his cousin's demise, Night stood up, barely managing to hear the she-cat's whispered warnings. And then, things happened quickly. Unidentified cats leaped from the surrounding bushes. There were dozens of them, and they easily outnumbered the group. He could feel thorn-sharp claws dig into his shoulders, and with a hiss, he spun around, staring into furious eyes that sought revenge. Pain drove him to the ground, and he was kicking, writhing, struggling to free himself. He could hear Streak and Claw fighting back to back, bringing down one of the offenders before disappearing in the midst of the fray. Moon's outraged cry filled Night's ears, and he kicked the tabby off him, jumping to his feet. Struggling to make sense of things, he saw Hawk and Blacky, forming a protective barrier around Iris. Yet he knew they were outnumbered, and with snarls of hatred, the two brothers were knocked to the ground. Racing over to his cousins as fast as he could, he was almost there when another figure slammed into his side. Agony erupted in his flanks as talons tore through his pelt, and he buried his fangs into the cat's shoulder. Warm blood filled his mouth, and he threw his attacker to the side, struggling to reach Iris before the already injured cat was killed. Finally, he reached the she-cat. However, all he found was her limp body on the ground, blood seeping from her throat. Beside her, he identified Hawk and Blacky, fur matted, Hawk's face still twisted into a furious snarl. A screech sounded from behind, and he turned to see Leaf pinned to the ground, a powerful white cat burying his fangs into her neck. Her cry was cut off, and violet-blue eyes widened, unable to take in his sister's murder. All that alerted him of his dangerous position was the stinging in his back as a cat launched itself on him. Stumbling sideways, Night was slammed into the ground as jaws clamped over his ear. Spinning sideways, he lashed out, claws catching the cat in the chin and sending it reeling to the side. Fury and grief overwhelmed the tom, and he could feel his fangs ripping through the cat's throat, his enemy's blood a salty taste on his tongue. Another cry, and he saw Raven's still body thud upon the forest floor, eyes blank and drained of life. His claws shot out, and he buried them in the back of a small brown she-cat, feeling fur and flesh rip beneath his grasp. She let out a screech of pain and fear as his jaws closed around her spine, snapping it with a sickening crunch. Releasing the carcass, he spun around in time to see Melody's lifeless body crumple to the floor beside Static's blood-soaked figure. It felt strange seeing everything he knew wiped out before his eyes. His head felt dizzy, and he was barely aware of a tabby tom raking his claws down Night's side. His head was pounding with confusion, and only when Scree threw the tabby cat off of him did he zone back in on the battle. "What are you doing?! Don't just stand there, he'll kill you!" Blinking as he was tossed back into reality, Night nodded briefly at his cousin before tackling a tortoiseshell, sinking his claws into the cat's fur. Scree was beside him, slashing out at the cat's face and blinding it. Then a crack sounded behind Night, and he turned, a feeling of sickening horror choking him as his mother's body skidded in the dust, eyes wide open as though she had seen her death coming. Another thud, and Scree was pushed to the ground by two toms. Launching himself at the cats, Night took one off to the side, but he could already see his cousin's body twitching as the blood spilled from his pelt. Sprinting over to his father's side, he could see a large tabby tom glaring with menace at him, and he wondered vaguely if his father knew the cat. The tabby raced forward, aiming straight for him, and he tensed, preparing to leap out of the way in time. However, a second figure suddenly appeared; his brother, Claw. The dark tom slammed headlong into the tabby, sending both cats crashing to the ground in a flurry of teeth and claws. He could hear himself shouting his brother's name before he felt his father's presence leave his side. He could hear Moon lunging at a nearby cat before three others took him from behind. Screeches filled his ears, and he knew that his father would never rise again. Pain slashed through his hindpaw as a cat bit deep into his flesh, and he staggered forward, barely escaping its deathgrip. He stumbled, and he could see his brother's face, one eye shut closed as blood trickled through his fur. Words barely met his ears before he realized Claw was telling him to run. Staring at the carnage around him, Night realized that his family was gone. The tabby who had attacked him and killed his brother was Thorn, one of their kin from the stories Rain had told him. Stories about how Bane, Night's uncle, had once been king until Night overthrew him. Tales of the exile of Bane's sons and mate. Tay, Thorn, and Jack. And he knew then that if he did not run, than those stories would have stood for nothing. And so he ran. Ran faster than he ever had despite his injuries. Sprinted through the clouds of dust, obscurred from his chasers' views. Dashed into the forest, never looking back. ----------- Blinking, the tom looked down and felt a wave of grief and confusion wash over him. Though he knew he shouldn't look at the most painful moment in his past, he could never escape the dark memory. Every night in his sleep, it haunted his dreams. The pain of losing them, of losing the life he had once known. But I'm fine now... Aren't I.... He felt moisture on his face, and he wasn't sure if he was crying or if it was just the rain. Either way, he could not bite back the bitter agony inside him, and slowly, he sank down to the ground until he could feel his belly fur in the mud. It hurts... It hurts to lie to myself...

[[Oh my lord that's huge. And it was sad! Everyone dying around him. Sorry, had to say that. I'll try and make a huge one. Use some memory too.]]
Elodie sniffled. She tried to change her mind from swarming with darkness to swarming with happiness. Even though she had never been fully happy in her life, it was worth a try, wasn't it?
Holly plucked the bird, taking out all of its feathers so easily, so swiftly, so daintily. Her epicure diet required fine food, she could never live off of what the Clan cats devoured every day so hungrily and call it a day's meal. She plopped herself on the warm, starchy hay, enjoying how the soft moonlight washed over the bleached clearing part in the center of the barn. Silently grooming her paws so they looked small and dabbled in the river, her eyes trailed off to the barn door. Meanwhile, on the top bench, Elodie stood, chewing thoughtfully on a mouse, its crimson oozing blood trickling into a scarlet pool before the creature. Despite the rank of the staling liquid and its smell caused by starting to lightly rot, she ignored it and ripped another part of its stomach. But a thought filled her mind, and she wondered about a moment, a moment in her life where she first met Holly, where she never remembered her parents from that day on, as it had always been the same: Learning how to be accustomed to the lifestyle of a loner. But now, in the twilight where her mind could clear, it all sprang up on her, as if after many moons it was ready to pounce, and yank it out. Like a fox. Curious, she wanted to check if her mentor knew anything.
Leaping gracefully from shelf to shelf, she felt the hay each time, and she always enjoyed the part where Elodie could just jump and feel like a bird. But today her ambition sank her, she instead felt like falling. As her feet touched the bottom floor, she licked her dirty chest fur. The other she-cat was finicky in thoroughly inspecting her attire and fur. Holly noticed her coming down, and her hazy amber eyes turned to her wistfully, like she was in dream. Sighing, she took a deep breath and began. "Do you know anything about my parents? Anything?" The Birman she-cat pressed, desperate for anything-whether minute or critical-from the cat's mouth. She seemed startled, and, smiling, she happily chastised, "Oh, honey, that's not important."
At once the reply hit her hard in the heart like a boulder, and she jolted up and shrieked, "Of course it matters! Wouldn't you care about your family if you never saw them? Her temper seemed to anger Holly in the inside, but she hid it quickly and sighed, "I would just be lucky to have a lovely mentor."[/b] Now I was getting really mad. Would she never tell me anything? She shoved her face into her mentors. Louder and clearer, she yelled, "DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY PARENTS!!!" Her voice got higher, like a soprano note. Her skin was turning pink inside, her fur bristling like every strand of hair was electric. one touch, and shivers would race up your body and you would be electric. But that didn't matter. She got up reproachfully and ordered, "Now young lady. You are banned from putting a show like that on me." Biting my lip and planting her feet in the ground, in fear she might sock her in the face. Finally, she wiped tears from her eyes, and Elodie, in complete shock, replied, "If you won't tell me anything about my parents, I'll find out myself." With one glare of pure menace, she darted off into the night, in search of the rogues, or a den.[/i]
And her family.
The memory shook her, and it took a while for it to stop. But she remembered the day that she forgot and ignored her mentor once and for all.

[Wow... That was long too. xD Lol] Sighing, the tom rested his head on his paws. The rain drummed sad songs into the earth, and never before had he felt so lonely. He had never really thought much about the fact that everyone he loved was dead. It had never really occurred to him that he would never see their smiling faces again; never hunt alongside them, never share jokes or arguments. They were gone permanently. But I always see them in my dreams, dying over and over again. Because I see them still alive at first, I can't accept that they are gone. So why, after seeing their murder repeatedly, can I not get it into my head that they are gone? Tracing a pattern in the mud, he watched the ripples through a murky puddle as raindrops splashed loudly. I'm a coward. I ran away... I let them down... Biting down on his tongue, he sat up slowly, tail trailing through the wet dirt. Sighing, he looked up. Strangely, despite the storm, the air around him seemed utterly calm, as though it were asleep. And the storm is the sky's dream... Calm on the outside with an inner turmoil. Glancing sideways at the den, he held back any words that would try escaping him. At the moment, he didn't mind if they talked about nothing in particular. If she was willing to at least say something, then he would take it and make sure not to annoy her again.

Elodie glanced fretfully at Night. She would never fully knew what happened in his mind. Of course, herself was easy to read, but the tom was so blank. At times she liked his no-emotion reaction, though it seemed he was worrying about something. What was worse was that she sometimes thought he was thinking about the she-cat in a bad way. There were many reasons that could support this idea, but why would he? She was one of the only other clan mate in the rogue coven, surely he wouldn't try and fight her. Would he? "Do you like the rogues?" she asked.

Blinking, he was slightly surprised that the she-cat was the first one to break the silence. However, he wasn't about to point this out, so instead, he leaned backwards and smiled. "Yes, and no, you could say. And how about you? What do you think of the Rouges?" He meowed, erasing any chances of explaining his feelings towards the group. In a sense, he realized it was best that no one knew anything about what had happened to him. The last person he wanted to weigh that burden on was Elodie. She already had so much on her mind. It wouldn't do any cat any good to trouble them unnecessarily.

The reply had hit her hard, and she thought coldly. Yes and no. Yes for sheltering and protecting her from her lying mentor, yes for finding her nephew, and yes for having reason to live finally. But there were a few regrets and setbacks. No for realizing there was only fighting and hunting. No for only using battle as a solution. And no for lying to Evening and having to explain to her sister he ran away. The pain had swelled inside of her, never letting go. That deeply affected her choice. "I'd have to say 'yes' and 'no' too." She nodded.
