Serenity glanced back at Rice as he continued his walk towards where his old home was. It all seemed so different; he was seeing the back of landmarks he had crossed before, and struggled to make sense of them all. He knew, eventually, he would find his old home, and hopefully; he might find his father and his sister and mother's killer. Looking ahead again, he glanced at one of the trees he had passed, noticed the leaf-stripped branches; felt his tail flick warily. There was something about this place that made him feel nervous. It was completely out in the open, so all cats could come down upon them and quite possibly; attack them. And it would be his fault for telling Rice about the cats that killed his sister. Deep in thought he realized, it wasn't completely true. She had come up with the plan and wanted to journey into the dangerous unknown just to find his family. But what if she get hurt, doing something that would help him. His tail flicked and eyes clouded with uncertainty. He wasn't so sure about the plan anymore. How could just the two of them take on that whole group of cats on their own? shaking his head he tried to clear the thoughts from his mind.

Soft paw steps sounded, and a undersized tom cat perked up. Drawing in scents, the golden brown tabby cat could only detect two others. Sliding forward, he followed. Hiding among the bare trees, yellow burning eyes watched intently as two cats traveled. They didn't look familiar to the tom, so he guessed that they weren't from around. Might as well give them a greeting, he thought darkly.
Picking up his pace a bit, Bleak trotted silently ahead. Waiting, the small cat slid out from hiding directly in front of the two travelers. "A little dangerous to be out here by yourselves, isn't it?" His high pitched meow was iced over. That was Bleak's normal greeting. Watching the young cats with seemingly unblinking eyes, Bleak wondered where the two were off to. Noticing that they looked a little uneasy, the little cat lifted up half of his brow. "What's your problem?" The question would have sounded really tough coming from a deep meowed cat, but coming from Bleak, it just sounded creepy.

OOC: Tis fine!!! =D The she-cat's eyes had been cast ahead as she followed the tom. A part of her bubbled over with excitement, while the other half hung back wearily. This was what she'd left home for. The adventure, the thrill, the risk! She'd given up on her old life, her family, everything, so that she could make something of herself. However, her heart was fearful of what lay ahead, and it took all her courage to keep from fleeing back. The air had a heavy, almost dreary feel to it, as though the mountains ahead were warning the two kits to turn back. Yet she knew that if she was ever going to fulfill something of a destiny, than this was as close as she could get. Though her nerves were hanging by a thread, she forced herself to remain calm. Two things were for sure. One; Rice had absolutely no idea how they were going to rescue Serenity's father. And two; if they were going to, they would need much more cat-power (lolxD) then what they had now. Sighing to herself, she was about to suggest to Serenity that they start forming some kind of a plan when a strange scent washed over her, and a cat she had never seen before stepped out of the bushes ahead. Slowing to a stop, the shy cat backed up slightly, blue eyes growing weary. The tom looked unusually small, and his voice was higher than most males she knew. At first, she wondered if he could possibly be another kit, but though he was small, he was still bigger than the two, and even Serenity's voice wasn't that high. Her first instincts told her to shy away and hide, but she bit back her bashfulness. She was with Serenity right now. What would he think if the she-cat who had decided on this whole expedition backed out upon first sighting a cat who so far posed not even a single threat? "Hello. If you didn't know, cats tend to have an inclination to do things that are bad for their health. And everyone has problems." She meowed, managing to relax as she spoke calmly, clear blue eyes flickering as she looked up at the cat, unable to keep from inching slightly closer to her companion as she felt a shiver of fear run through her at the tom's blank gaze. Serenity began to watch the pebbles beneath him as he walked, hardly paying attention to what was around him, or what was approaching. When the voice came it startled him, and he snapped his head up. The tom that approached was small, a dark brown tabby cat. He looked into the cat's eyes, saw the green optics. They were so cold and empty, it made the fur prickle along his spine. The cat's words filled the air with a chill that made the tip of his tail twitch, and he was silent for a heart beat. Fortunately, Rice spoke, though he hardly listened to her words. By the time she was done speaking he raised his head to gaze back into the cat's eyes. Though he was small, he was not a kit like Rice and himself was, and that made him a bit more nervous. "We're on a journey," he stated simply, gazing at the older tom. "We're alone because..." he glanced at Rice before finishing. "Because our families are gone, and we found each other," he murmured, trying to sound as polite as he could. His black tail continued to flick slowly back and forth at the tip.

Excuse me! But Bleak, Don't try to creep them out! A voice sounded from the trees. I know how you like to do that kind of thing! A silver tabby jumped down from the tree, landing softly on her paws. She them bowed, then looked up at them with a smile. Heather's the name! I am the ears of this part of the forest. Don't you have someone to bother Bleak... like.... Night or someone? She smiled at Bleak. Or are you planning on staying here? I would be delighted if you did, but I don't need you scaring little ones out here... her small body rubbed against Bleak lightly, her tail flicking his nose. She laughed and looked at Rice. My, aren't you pretty? I could look at you all day and be jealous of you for my entire life! Heather knew herself was very pretty, but Rice made herself look right. She turned her attention back to Bleak, not at all scared of his eyes. Anyway, Bleak. I just had an idea! she looked at Rice. Let us come with you, I know I'm free, and Bleak... well what about you? I am good at hunting and I'm sure big, strong Bleak could be good at fighting! she purred lightly. That way you won't be all alone in this wilderness. Where are you going anyway?

Hearing the brush rustle and Heather's voice, Bleak snapped his head to glare at the she-cat. "Who said I was creeping them out? I was just saying hello," he stated. Heather talked too fast for Bleak, and she got annoying. "No I don't have anyone to bother!" he hissed. "Night's busy. Why would I ever-" Bleak's complain was cut off by the pretty she-cat rubbing on him. Jumping away, the little cat crouched low to the ground and sneezed. "Don't touch me! You know just as well as any other cat that I hate when I'm touched!" his high pitched mew strung the air.
"An idea? That's a shock..." Bleak muttered quietly, rising to his full height. Fluffing out his fur, the little tom looked up at the she-cat. "What? Go with? You know I don't do well with kits... I've had my fair share as one, and that was not good, now was it?" Bleak allowed a smirk to his muzzle. "Death is a bitter sweet thing," he hissed softly, only so Heather could hear. Killing his two brothers and one sister had been a rush for him. Turning his yellow orbs back on the traveling kits, the golden tabby took in everything. They would need someone to help them along, and Heather was good at hunting, not as good as Bleak in fighting though. The little cat let out one of his sound that signaled his thinking. "Hmmn... Fine, I'll tag along."
OOC:: Aw! One post and I already love Heather!! She's so cute!!

Ooc: thanks!! I love her nature... it makes me feel like losing myself in her character... since that is typically who i am....
Ic: Yes, it is Bleak. I've had my share as well! She whispered as she remembered when she had to kill a fox without her sisters. She was nervous that she had to fight it alone, but when she got started, it was hard to stop. She loved the urge to kill things. She craved it sometimes, but she did her best to keep it on the down low. Great! So do y'all agree to this? I'm sure you won't be able to survive all of this on your own. she laughed, but not meaning it in a nasty way. She looked at Bleak and sighed. She got closer to him and whispered where only he could hear. You can't stay so alone for long. It... does things to a cat. It drives them insane to where there is no return from it. I should know. My father went through it after mother died. she sighed sadly as she remembered those times. A single tear, so tiny you had to have a microscope to see it, fell down her cheek onto the forest floor. She looked at him with a smile and spoke a little louder. Now it's up to them to decide! She returned to her normal self, and rubbed against Bleak again, just to make him angry. I have good hopes to this!

OOC: Awwww! xD I love Heather! Such a sweet character. x3 Lol, Bleak's reaction is hilarious. Feeling reassured as her companion remained calm, she was about to speak again when suddenly, another scent hit her and a new arrival, this one much more cheery than the tom, appeared. Though she felt she should say something, the she-cat's mouth moved too quickly for Rice to comprehend, and by the time her ears took in the cat's words and made sense of them, Heather had already started chattering away in a quieter voice to the seemingly irrate tom beside her. What an interesting cat... She thought, eyes wide as she stared at the cat's unbelievable enthusiasm. When both loners unexpectedly offered to accompany the kits, she wasn't sure how to respond. Or rather, she was unable to. "I... I guess..." Catching herself, she straightened, blue eyes flickering as she regained her composure. "I don't see anything wrong with it... The more the merrier, I suppose... What about you, Serenity?" She asked, realizing that even if they rejected the cats' offer, Heather would probably follow them anyway. But she couldn't help but envy the loner's optimism and seemingly permanent smile. She was pretty too, and she felt herself already looking up to the she-cat. Her mother and father had never spent much time with her, so she'd never really been able to see anyone in her life as a role-model. But here this cat was; grin and all, and Rice suddenly felt as if she had known the loner her entire life. Heather had a way of spreading a warmth to those around her, and she noted with amusement that Bleak's cold demeanor seemed to be inching away from the light, as though fearing it would melt beneath Heather's rays. After all, she and Serenity both knew equally well that two kits wouldn't be enough to infiltrate a Rouge group's camp. Besides, despite Bleak's small stature, his eyes made him seem big enough to squash an entire clan without even a glance. She shivered slightly at his cold gaze, but then reminded herself that every cat deserved a chance, and judging a cat was never right.

"And I'm not already to the brink of insanity?" Bleak hissed quietly to Heather. In almost every which way he looked at himself, the little tom thought of himself as insane. Hearing the small she-cat speak, Bleak glanced over to her. "Right..." His high pitched mew trailed off and he glanced over to the tom. "Serenity, is it?" He glanced up at the sky. "Nice name," was the first compliment from Bleak all day. Looking back down and resting his eyes on the she-cat, the exotic tabby cocked his head. "I think it's best we know your names. So, we have Heather, Bleak, Serenity and..." His mew trailed off as he looked down at the she-kit.
OOC:: Sorry if she had already said her name to them... I didn't see it.

Serenity blinked clear blue eyes up at the she-cat that appeared. He flicked the tip of his tail in surprise. He hadn't expected so many cats to come out and want to join them so early. They'd hardly made it out from the rogue fields. He flicked his tail back and forth, noticing her oddly, very social behavior and doubted they'd ever have a time in silence again. The thought both soothed and bothered him, as silence was always nice. Gazing up at them, he twitched his ear towards Rice when his friend spoke. He guessed it was fine. He didn't really mind it as long as they could be trusted. He noticed her beautiful coat, and Bleak's small brown tabby pelt. Blinking again he dipped his head as the brown tom complimented him. "T-thank you," he stammered for a heartbeat. "Thank you. Are you sure? it's a long ways away," he knew he was going to have to tell them the full details of why they were going on the journey, and where they had to go to reach the end of the journey. He flicked the tip of his tail, glanced around at the landscape around him as the firsts shadows of dusk began to settle over the fields. It was growing dark already? blinking, he glanced up at the sky only to see a dark gray cloud floating over the sun, casting the world in shadow.

You don't have the eyes of someone insane.... she mewed suddenly shy. I should know what they look like, though I hope I never see it again. I still have nightmares about what my father looked like. It was truely terrifying. More terrifying than you will ever see, even a pack of badger, foxes, and bobcats put together... she looked up at the sky wishing she had never seen what she had seen. She felt very lonely at that moment and again at the thought of her father's eyes, she shivered, the chill going to her bones. She looked at Bleak and then looked at Rice. Yes what is you name little one?

Blinking, the she-cat's fur reddened as the attention was drawn towards her, and she found her normally shy nature creep up on her until she felt far too embarrassed to look up. "It... It's Rice." She meowed, cursing her stammering voice. For a brief moment though, she'd thought she'd seen the cheery she-cat's face cloud with a shadow, but she brushed it off. Even the happiest of cats had their secrets. Maybe she'd get to know Heather well enough so that one day the she-cat might open up and let her know what had bothered her. I've led such an uninteresting life. Holding back a defeated sigh, she managed to lift her gaze and force a shaky smile, trying to regain her confidence once more.

Bleak rolled his eyes at Heather, but said nothing as the she-cat said her name. "Rice," Bleak repeated. All these cats had fine names; names that weren't against them. The little cat sighed deeply, his eyes clouding for a brief moment. Shaking his head roughly, the little cat looked back to Rice and Serenity. "Urm... So, where are you two headed in the first place?" It was odd for two young cats to be out without their mothers at their sides, and they had only said that they were on a journey. "What did you say about a journey?"

Serenity gaze up at the older time. For a heartbeat he didn't know what to say. Should he tell them? glancing at his paws, he flicked the tip of his tail. They wanted to come, he told himself. He looked back up at both of them. "We're looking for the group of cats that killed my sister. I. we think they took my father, and we're trying to get him back," he squeaked, trying to keep the nervousness out of his voice. He observed the cloudy look in Heather's eyes when she spoke about her own father, and shivered. Curious, he stared at her. "What's a bobcat?" he'd heard of a badger and fox, but not a bobcat. It sounded dangerous though, and he flicked his tail wondering if he really wanted the answer. His eyes studied his paws, not sure what to say next. He could feel the sun shining down on his fur, raised his head to look up into the heavens. For a heartbeat he thought he saw his sister's eyes gazing down at him, proud and filled with sorrow at the same time. He felt a pang of grief in his heart, and blinked. She was gone. Glancing back down he felt a sudden surge of confidence. He could do this for her.

A black male cats stared at four other cats with interest. He had been eavesdropping, surprised that they hadn't scented him yet. He had nothing else to do and a journey was to his likings. He was new around this area and no one knew him yet. He want the m to though. Scratch listened and wondered if he should make himself known. When the cat called Bleak finished talking, he stepped out. He had probably surprised them. "Hello, my name is Scratch and I'm new around this are. I couldn't help but overhear and I was wondering if I could come on this journey also. I like the sounds of an adventure and maybe a fight." He hoped they would accept his offer, and not get mad about him "overhearing".
OOC: sorry that i just kinda interupted. I needed to post with Scratch.
