[navy]Name: Night
Age: 17 Moons
Gender: Tom
Clan: Loner/Rouge
Rank: Fighter
Picture:
Appearance: A tall black tom with a sterdy yet unintimidating figure, he has well-groomed fur and a noble stature. His voice is soft and he has his mother's violet-blue eyes. A white splash marks his chest, passed on from his father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and so on. He is quite a charming tom, and he gives off a reassuring aura.
Personality: Calm and collective, he is a natural born leader, litterally. His voice is soothing and though he spends most of his time thinking, he is drawn to troubled cats and has a way with words. He is skilled at understanding and communicating with others, and he has an intelligent, compassionate mind. Night is easy to like, but he has a darker side to his past that he doesn't like to tell others, and though he may not look it, he is an excellent liar. By a certain cat, he is known as The Dark Prince, and Night rarely ever speaks of his past to anyone.
History: Born miles and miles away from the clans, Night was the son of the ruler of a group of cats who had created their own civilization. His father, Moon, was the leader of this group. Every cat in the kingdom was related, whether they were cousins, siblings, nephew, aunt; everyone was kin. Moon's grandfather (Night's great great grandfather) had driven the former inhabitants of the kingdom out and had claimed it for himself and his family. Those inhabitants'descendants have hated the kingdom ever since.
However, it happened to be that Night's uncle, Bane, was the former ruler of the kingdom. Moon grew jealous of his older brother's position and arranged the murder of the kin. When Moon was put into power, he ordered Bane's mate and kits out of the territory, leaving Tay homeless with her children Thorn and Jack.
Three moons later, Night was born, and, despite the fact that he had an older brother, he and his sister Leaf were also known as heirs to the throne. As he grew up, he was oblivious to the horrible things his father had done, and he spent his life carefree and playing with his many cousins. However, little did he know that a stronger power was lying in wait for the perfect moment to pass.
At 7 moons, Night and his kin were chattering away in a clearing when they were suddenly ambushed. They were taken by surprise, and it was revealed that Thorn, Jack, and many, many hate-filled outsiders were the attackers. Night's family wasn't prepared, and, many of his relatives still being extremely young, they were all slaughtered in the after-math. Night was the sole survivor, and, urged on by his dying brother Claw, he fled into the woods, the scene he had just witnessed imprinted permanently in his mind.
He didn't stop running, and finally, he collapsed in the clan territories, exhausted. He was found by the Rouges and, though they weren't the nicest cats at heart, they somewhat pitied the loner and let him join their group after he'd recovered.
Though he remains a Rouge today, he knows that Thorn is aware of Night's existence, and that his cousin won't rest until he's avenged his father's death. Of course, Night had nothing to do with Bane's murder, but Thorn is intent on letting his kin feel every ounce of pain and despair that he himself had to live through, and Night knows and understands this. He is also aware that there are many cats still out there who want him dead to compensate for their forefathers being driven away by Night's family, and he has come to accept the idea that time can not heal all wounds.
Role Play Sample: Darkness weaved its way through the forest, and as the shadows settled in for the night, a lone figure lay curled up in the bushes, sides rising and falling steadily. He gave off the impression that he was asleep, though, in reality, he was very much awake.
After all, how could he sleep with so many thoughts whirling around in his still young mind?
Twisting onto his other side, Night sighed as a cool breeze rustled the ferns around him.
What if Thorn has made his way to these forest by now? I know he'll have come to track me down, and though I've accepted the idea that he will try to kill me, I will not let myself be blamed for sins that I have not committed.
Still, the idea that the dark tabby tom was lying in wait for him kept the tom awake, and, finally, in exasperation, he sat up, beautiful blue eyes troubled and bloodshot from moons of sleepless nights.
Oh well. There's no point in worrying about those things. They can't be changed, so I may as well wait for him to come here. After all, everything happens for a reason...
Slowly, he closed his eyes, yet his mind continuously replayed that one fateful day when his life had been torn from him; when everything he knew and lived for had been taken away.
Muttering frustratedly under his breath, he stood up, walked in a circle, and then flopped down again, blinking his eyes closed once more.
Mice... Dream of mice... Hunting mice alongside Blacky and Streak...
Gradually, the memories flooded his mind, and he was racing alongside his cousins and best friends once again, paws flying across the ground without a care in the world. At that moment, he felt as if he could explode with happiness. This was his home, even if it was only a dream. It was still there, in his memories, and he would savor those sweet, honey-scented moments until they too, were ripped from his life.
