[teal]Name: Jaywing
Age: 24 Moons
Gender: She-cat
Clan: Shadowclan
Rank: Warrior
Picture:
Appearance: A pure white like the leaf-bare snow, Jaywing has medium-length fur and small, delicate paws. Though don't be fooled. Icy blue eyes stare out at you, and a long frosty tail lashes when angry.
As large as any other cat her age, she has long limbs and a pelt that blends in horribly with her shadowy surroundings. Though she can be qualified as quite pretty, she does not stand out next to her sister.
Personality: The opposite of Fernpelt, she is harsh and anti-social. Hating everyone around her, she refuses to speak with cats from other clans and often gives them the cold shoulder.
Despite her gentle appearance, she has a sharp mind and can be extremely stubborn, like her brother. Despite her short-temper, she is fiercely loyal to her clan, and is desperate to prove that she will not betray them the way her mother did.
Therefore, she is more than willing to obey her leader and deputy; sometimes even putting her clan before her siblings.
Deep inside, though, she is in agony, and is wrapped up in her own pain at the realization that she, unlike her littermates, will never be fully accepted into her clan.
Though her mother died when she was only 2 moons old, she was there to witness it, and every night she is haunted by visions of Bluesong's death.
History: Born into Shadowclan originally, Jaykit and her siblings Icekit and Fernkit were half-clan; their mother, Bluesong, coming from Shadowclan while their father, Hawktail, was of Riverclan. From the minute they were born, Bluesong's clanmates suspected that she had broken the Warrior Code. There was no other cat in Shadowclan with a pitch black pelt and golden eyes, and Bluesong was white with green eyes. Jaykit and Fernkit were the spitting images of their mother, while Icekit was suspiciously identical to the Riverclan tom Hawktail.
Gradually, the family's clanmates grew apart from them, and the three kits grew up in a world of whispers, uneasy glances, and harsh judgements.
Finally, Bluesong could take it no longer, and, believing that her kits didn't deserve to suffer for her own mistakes, decided to leave them in different clans.
In the dark of night, when her kits were each 2 moons, she snuck out of camp, bringing them with her. First, she went to Thunderclan, where one of her best friends was. She explained the situation to her friend, and, luckily, her friend agreed to take Fernkit into Thunderclan. Fernkit, being much smaller than the average 2-moon-old kit, could easily be mistaken for a new-born. Bluesong's friend, Leafwind, brought Fernkit into Thunderclan camp the next day after telling the kit to close her eyes, pretending that she had just given birth to the kitten.
At first, cats didn't believe her. She'd shown no signs of pregnancy, but she insisted that Fernkit was her own child, and they obliged finally.
Meanwhile, Bluesong had brought Icekit to Riverclan to live with his father. Hawktail took the kit and, after erasing the tom's scent, told his clanmates that he had found Icekit in the woods. Icekit was taken in, and Bluesong hurried on towards Windclan.
However, on the way, Bluesong and Jaykit were attacked by a fox, and, in the battle, Bluesong was killed. Her dead body shielded Jaykit from view, and before the fox could find the kitten, a Windclan patrol showed up and chased it off. When they found Jaykit, they picked up her Shadowclan scent and brought her back to her homeclan, dropping the kit off.
Jaykit was raised by a different queen, and though the cat was reluctant at taking care of a half-clan kit, she knew she couldn't abandon the she-cat. Despite the fact that Jaykit no longer had any kin left in Shadowclan, she was looked down on, and her clanmates openly showed their distain.
Her once friendly and gentle side dissolved, and was replaced by a cold, angry cat who hated the glares and whispers thrown at her. She grew up loving only herself, and when she was finally made an apprentice, she made it her goal to prove that she was just as good as everyone else.
She worked hard; training with her mentor in the morning and staying up at night to battle owls and to climb trees. Her hard work payed off, and she excelled far ahead of her denmates. However, her warrior ceremony was postponed anyway due to the doubt from warriors that she was truly loyal to Shadowclan.
Infuriated, she wasn't expecting the true test that would happen the next day.
When her brother, Icepaw, entered Shadowclan camp in an attempt to bring her to Riverclan, she at first wanted to run to him and leave behind the suspicious glares. However, she knew it would be no different for her in Riverclan. She'd be instantly recognize as the Shadowclan apprentice Jaypaw.
In a cold voice, she told him to leave and that they were no longer a part of one anothers' world. Her clanmates, hearing this, decided that she could be trusted, even if only a little, to remain faithful to Shadowclan.
Icepaw returned to Riverclan without his sister, and Jaypaw was made Jaywing.
However, despite the fact that she was made a warrior, her clanmates never fully trusted her, and she knew she could never erase the Riverclan blood inside of her. Sometimes, she wishes she could tell her siblings everything she was feeling. How it wasn't fair that they had been allowed to start their lives over while she had to spend every single day surrounded by untrusting stares.
