[navy]Holding back a scoff, the tom nodded instead. "Well, good luck with that. But just so you know, if you plan on becoming an apprentice anytime too soon, you'll get squashed flat by your new denmates." Glancing over at the fresh-kill pile, he noted that it was emptier than normal, but he wasn't really in the mood to hunt. Besides, he hadn't had a normal conversation with anyone for moons. Well, if you could even call this conversation normal. I wonder what Jaywing is doing right now... And Fernpelt...[/navy]

Eveningkit groaned annoyed, his pelt bristling. Why did the warrior keep going on and on and on about his size? Some cats grew up as [small] heroes. He bit back yet another snarl, and hissed, "'I'd like to see them try." He proudly thrust his head towards the apprentices' den. "You bet they try, and I'll pulverize them."

[navy]Closing his eyes, the tom nodded approvingly. "Mmhmm. That's the way to think. Never let anything stand in your way." Blinking his eyes open again, he looked over at the kit. His eyes lost the gentler look though and took on a more serious expression. "But when you become an apprentice, which will be soon, you'll have to think carefully about what you wish for. Fighting for your clan may seem heroic and valient, but it's one thing to talk about it and another to actually feel every ounce of pain; both physical and emotional." Flicking his tail, he cast a bored look over his shoulder. "But I guess we should worry about those things when the time actually comes."[/navy]

"Why do you act so...warrior like?" Eveningkit groaned. That's what he'd hate about graduating from an apprentice. When you're a warrior, you're always wrecking everyone's fun. It'd be so much easier if everyone was a playful kit. No fighting, no commenting on anyone's size... He put an emphasis on that phrase and drifted off to a dream. That would be the day, when nobody ever dared to pick on him. That would be the day, when everyone stopped bullying and teasing him. Stop acting so lovely butterflies!!! the kit ordered himself. He shook himself back into reality and looked at Icewreath.

[navy]Poking the tom in the side of the head, Icewreath snorted and sat up. "Why? Because if everyone acted like kits, than we'd all end up sitting ducks for badgers, foxes, and other predators. Trust me, one day you'll realize that life isn't all fun and games." There was a darker hint to his words, but he masked it with a mockingly friendly look in his eyes. "Besides, if you want to eventually be a warrior too, than you'll have to start taking a more serious outlook on life."[/navy]

"Well you certainly don't," Eveningkit hissed, remembering those fatal words the warrior had said that his aunt had harshly said to him when he cried or got mad or played. "You're always moping about dreaming. About your siblings, probably." He narrowed his eyes as anger boiled inside of him, and it was hard to control it.

[No one but Fernpelt, Jaywing, and Icewreath know that he has kin in the other clans.] [navy]The tom cast Eveningkit a dark look. "And why would I think about cats who don't exist? In case you haven't heard, I don't have any family. I was brought to Riverclan as a loner kit. The only kin I have are dead to me." Though the words were cold as they left the tom's mouth, it was hard for one to see through the white lie. It was true indeed that Icewreath no longer saw his sisters as part of his family. However, every cat had a biological family. Even if they had died, they were still your family. "And you're not really one to talk, scrappy. Where's your family? Are they off mashing bugs somewhere?" His lips curled back in a snarl, but his fur didn't bristle, and aside from the bitter expression he had, there were no other signs of aggression from the tom.[/navy]

[[No, he doesn't know who Icewreath's siblings are, but usually cats have family.]] "My parents were more honorable then yours would ever be!" Eveningkit shrieked, a look of annoyance in his blazing eyes. He had no right whatsoever to insult his family, as everybody in RiverClan knew who they were. He bristled with even more fury when he called him scrappy, as the other warrior wasn't Superman either. "Well, at least I'm a kit," he hissed menacingly, "But you're not one to talk either. They made exceptions for you though." His growl echoed across the clearing, like it was the final blow in battle.

[Oh, ok. Yeah, I wasn't really sure. ^^ Kk, sorry bout that.] [navy]The tom's eyes blazed with a dark hatred that lay deeper down than the argument at hand. "You're right! My parents were filthy, lying cowards! Would you like to rub that in any further?!" He spat, claws sliding out as he glare menacingly at the kit, rising up to his full size. "You should consider yourself LUCKY that you can even talk about your family like they were still here. I told you before, my kin are dead to me." His tail lashed and the fur along his spine stood on end, dark eyes glittering with a dangerous ferocity. "That's right. I'm an exception because I didn't very well choose to live in this damn world! Get it into your puny little head that I wouldn't give half a cat's dirt whether I died or not tomorrow. My existence, the reason I'm standing here right in front of you... Is a mistake." He hissed, grinding out the last words, voice filled with cold venom.[/navy]

[[No! It's fine. The little kitty knows he just has a family, but hasn't seen it, so he's suspicious. Doesn't know.]] Eveningkit enjoyed watching the cat's temper, it seemed to fuel him with anger, with energy, propelling him to bite back. His tail lashed out, and he hissed in fury. Right now he didn't care who saw, but he hoped people wouldn't stop him. His ears screeched at the deafening venom sound the warrior seemed to make with his to tongue. Suddenly, his eardrums couldn't take it any longer. He smirked quietly, "If life's so horrible, then just commit suicide." He had heard tales of cats causing themselves death, but Eveningkit had never known how it was done. Maybe they thrust themselves over a cliff. Anything was possible.

[navy]Sniffing contemptously, he sat up, eyes daggered slits as he stared down at the kit.
"Huh. You think I haven't thought of that before? That would be too easy. Just living life itself is harder than commiting suicide. Every day I remain standing is more and more of a punishment for me. Wouldn't it make you happy to see me suffering rather than just ending it all in one blow?" His lips pulled back in a snarl and he flicked the tom in the side of the head with his tail. Harder than a gentle nudge, but not so hard to cause any damage.[/navy]

Eveningkit looked confused. Terribly confused. The warrior was just tangling some mess, some cobwebs in his brain. He didn't have a clue why he was so mad, except a few. What was wrong with talking about family? "No, you can do whatever you want. My mom told me that."

[navy]"Since when did this become about doing what you want?" He said bleakly, staring at the kit. Your mother told you? Well then, your mother was a fool, just like mine. Lifting his head, he stared at the Nursery for some time. The stench had drifted off, but he could still detect it. Just because the smell has passed, doesn't mean it wasn't there. Some of it still lingers. Images flashed in his mind, memories of when he was younger, still a kit. Growing up in a world of whispers. Voices hissing into his ears. Murmurs, uneasy glances at him and his littermates. And he remembered the dark hatred he had felt towards the cats who had shunned him and his family. It was strange how he could hate everyone because they hated him. He even despiced his own kin, who were also victims that fell subject to venomous glares. After all, what wound ever healed without a scar? Narrowing his eyes, he unsheathed one claw and traced a line in the dust.[/navy]

The kit looked up with one glance at the dying rank of mashed beetle. Though he had tried very hard to stop them from concocting the madness, it never worked. Of course, his litter-mates agreed to make something, and Eveningkit couldn't tear that contract. As whiffs of the carcass filled his nostrils, he shook it off, noticing there was also staling blood. Sadly and efficiently, he shoved down, not looking at Icewreath. "Since I ran away," he whispered softly.

[navy]Blinking, the tom was slightly alarmed. Looking over at Eveningkit, he spoke softer this time. "Well, you could say I did the same thing, too. But you probably had better reasons than me." He meowed, looking back over at the Nursery. It was strange. He hadn't thought that he and this tiny cat shared anything in common. Yet, now that he actually took the tim to think about it, they really weren't all that different. In a way, they were both just trying to find their place in the world, and there was something dark in their pasts that had chased them towards where they were now.[/navy]
