Had Shadestar not been so preoccupied with her worries for her deputy and warrior, she would have taken the time to laugh. It was not every day you heard a bark come from the mouth of a cat! The sight of it was quite funny. However, Shadestar knew this was not the time for laughing. She narrowed her eyes, focusing on the fox. It had some minor injuries now, but nothing that would force it away. It began to circle them, looking at each potential bite in turn. Shadestar locked onto its movement, and lunged forward. She leaped into the air, landing squarely on its back. The fox, taken slightly by surprise, let out a growl of anger. He move his head around, and attempted to shake the gray she-cat. Shadestar clung to him as best she could, sinking her teeth deep into the shoulder of the brute, as revenge for the shoulder of her friend.

Thymemoon saw her leader grab on to the fox and lunged at it's feet, biting on to one a hard as she could. She heard the fox scream in pain, and smiled as warm blood filled her mouth. She completely lost herself in that feeling and started going into a frenzy, not caring when the fox got a bite in her shoulder again. She felt the thrill and couldn't control herself. She just kept clawing and biting it as much as she could, missing a few times, but getting few scratches on the fox.

Jadeheart watched her leader and deputy go at the fox. Thymemoon was bleeding from a now twice inflicted shoulder wound, but that seemed to only give the she-cat energy. Jadeheart's eyes grew wide as she watched Thymemoon hiss, claw, bite, and growl with such speed and ferocity it almost worried the warrior. Was this the same cat would had become frightened by a confrontation with Windclan? Who had claimed that the images of the violence had haunted her? Surely not...Jadeheart began to wonder if this is why Thymemoon was deputy. Because she could turn the rage on or off like this. Jadehearts eyes were torn from the deputy for a moment, to watch her leader. The gray she-cat was almost a blur as she ducked away from and between the fox's attacks. Every so often, shadestar would place a good counterattack on the fox, and only twice so far had the brute managed to land a blow on her. Jadeheart crept forward, wanting to help the others to end the fight. She threw herself into the mix, getting a strong swipe of sharp claws onto the muzzle of the fox as it spun away from one of the others' moves...

Thymemoon struggled with her sanity in the back of her mind. I will not be taken over by this again! she yowled in her head, and finally cleared the insanity gripping her, she slunk back to the pile, and grabbed a fish. Take this mouse-crap! she stuffed the fish into the fox's opened mouth, still trying to snap at her. She stuffed it down it's throat and watched it's reaction.

Shadestar was sincerely shocked as her deputy shoved a fish down the fox's throat. The beast paused a moment, mostly confused, but still aware enough to recognize the boldness of his meal's move. Then the orange furred creature began to wretch loudly. The fish had become lodged in its throat! The fox gagged and choked, spluttering madly. With one last glance of rage toward Thymemoon and the others, it turned tail and fled, trying all the while to dislodge the blockage in his throat. Shadestar listened as slowly, the noise of the gagging monster became fainter and more distant. She then turned to Thymemoon. "Where did you learn that one?!" the leader asked, her blue eyes wide with surprise. Shadestar had never seen anything like it before. Thymemoon had either been acting with pure genius, or a stroke of Bipolar...Shadestar laughed.
Jadeheart had a large wound to her head, the fox had rammed her aside, but not with a push. The fox had head butted her with a half open mouth. A few of his fangs had scratched her. The bloody bruise was throbbing dully upon her head. She looked at Thymemoon through a half swollen gaze. "I don't recall my mentor ever having showed me something like that!" the warrior joked. Her meow was frail, and her head was swimming. She wobbled slightly on her paws, and had to sit down. The wound didn't seem fatal, but it was causing her a great amount of dizziness and pain...

Desperate times call for funny measures! Thymemoon laughed as the fox ran away. She looked at Shadestar with wide eyes. I just thought of it with randomness in mind! she laughed and looked at Jadeheart. You owe Dawnkit and Burnkit your life! They are the ones that warned us. We got here as fast as we could! she sighed and looked at the pile of scattered fish. Let's only take back the untrampled ones. We don't know what the fox had stepped in before he came here. She looked araound and spotted the big fish she caught earier, town up an trampled all over. That was a good one too! she sighed and went to work sorting the others.

Shadestar laughed along with her deputy, before spotting the trampled prize catch of her friend. "I'm sorry Thymemoon. that one really was great." she meowed, before padding over the help sort out the keepers from the crow food. The leader found that only about half of the fish from the remainders were a mess. That added up to only about a quarter of their catch. She tried to think optimistically, in light of how much worse things could have turned out. A slight loss of prey from an extremely successful hunt was nothing compared to the loss of one of her warriors.
Jadeheart smiled. The two kits had warned the deputy and leader? they must have been spying...how dangerous for them! To get close enough to know a fox was near, and make it to the older cats alive to relay the message! Jadeheart hoped she got to mentor one of the little balls of fur now. If not to repay them for their indirectly saving her life, then to get to teach a cat who would clearly become a great warrior. Her mind hovered around an image of Dawnkit for a moment. Dawnkit was so young, yet evidently so brave!

ooc: lmao.. when can we have the cerimonies?
ic: Thymemoon looked at the small pile they collected. Well, this way it's enough for all of us to carry back to camp though... She sighed and went over to the bad fish. She dug a hole and put a fish in it. Then, she covered it with the dirt she took out. She buried all the trampled fish and picked up her share of good fish. Let's go... She turned around and started heading back to camp.

OOC: I am not sure. How old is Dawnkit? If she is six moons by now since you made her, or even close, then I should be able to do that. Anywhere within five moons I should be able to fudge it...
IC: Shadestar nodded and lifted her share of the load. She began to follow her deputy to their camp. Thinking about it clearly, even without the trampled fish, their amount of hunting that day was impressive. The prey they had brought to the pile was worth even the scuffle with the fox...
Jadeheart grabbed the last of the not squashed fish. She trotted to catch up with her leader and deputy. Falling into step with them, she tried not to let her mind wander. After all, earlier she had allowed herself to daydream while on guard. The result had been loss of prey, and nearly her own life. She didn't want to think about what could have happened if those kits hadn't warned Thymemoon. Would she have even had a chance? She wasn't even paying attention...it had been right behind her, and she hadn't even smelled it! And for any cat who knows what a fox smells like, to not smell one behind you, would be hard...

OOC: I will send Sile a PM. Burntkit was made before Dawnkit was. They should be able to. I will let you know as soon as she replies. =)
