Slowing down a bit, Minx looked up and glared at him as he spoke. Grunting she licked the bits from her lips and growled, "no, I've already spent enough time here as it is." Than without so much as a second glance, she bent down and continued to eat her fill. When she had finely finished a pile of tawny feathers and clean licked bones lay scattered in front of her. Letting out a faint snort of satisfaction, she flexed her toes and rose to her paws. Wincing as she felt that the limb had begun to stiffen, Minx huffed and shot Night a dangerous glare. "Now that you have served me...I suggest you get out of the way and let me pass. Just thank the hell-gates that today you where able to keep your life," the rogue spat rudely, her tail lashing with impatience.

Night blinked once before his ears flicked. Tilting his head, he gave the she-cat a funny look, as though she had just spoken another language. "Served you? I helped you because you were in need of assistance." Smiling, the tom's tail swayed in a friendly manner before he meowed, "Besides, if you won't accept me as a friend, than at least let me feed you every now and then; just until your paw heals." Offering somewhat of a negotiation, he hoped the she-cat would agree to the compromise. He feared she might starve if he left her alone, or worse. With her temper, she might pick a fight with a healthy rouge and end up the loser. I'll just help her for a while. If she says no, I'll follow her around if I have to. I can't let anyone else get hurt because I couldn't do anything. The tom's smile faded into a look of determination, and he met the she-cat eye to eye, violet gaze unwavering.

Minx swung her scarred head in disbelief, did he really think she would accept help from another cat just like that? Holding back the urge to howl in rage, she unsheathed her claws and slashed at his face although she was far from hitting her target. "Never!" She yowled, "I will not lower myself to the level of the weak, I said move!" Now her voice rang strong with demand and she took a step toward him. Any moment and she would lunge. "If I cannot fight him, than I will go for his neck! Blah! Minx being fed like a helpless kit? Preposterous!" She thought quickly, green eyes locked on his determined gaze.

Curious as the she-cat lashed out at the air in front of him, he stepped to the side and stared at where she had been aiming. "Who're you slashing at? Oh! Do you have an imaginary friend too? It's always good to have someone only you know to confide in." He purred, oblivious to the fact that, in this case, he was the 'imaginary friend' who had been a whisker's length from getting his face mauled. Smiling, he poked her in the side good-naturedly before padding to a nearby tree and clawing off a chunk of moss. Turning around, he smiled at the she-cat, flicking his tail. "I can set up a nest for you. And what's this you keep saying about level of the weak? I didn't know there were any rankings." Carrying the bundle of moss over, he set it beneath some low-hanging willow-tree branches, arranging a cozy looking bed. "There, see? You can sleep soundly at night without worrying about rain or the cold."[b/] Ignoring the she-cat's furious protests, he buried what was left of her meal before turning to face the cat and smiling. Breathing deeply, Minx snarled and twisted sharply to her right when she felt his paw gently prod her in the side. Paw at the ready, she batted fiercely at the empty air where only a few moments ago he had been. Stunned when she glimpsed him clawing cheerful at some moss, Minx roared and dug her claws uselessly into the earth. "There, see? You can sleep soundly at night without worrying about rain or the cold." Sides heaving with the intense anger thrashing inside of her, Minx snapped her head to stare at him with blazing orbs. "I've already told you, you pathetic excuse for a cat, I don't need your help!" She responded between clenched teeth, one ear laid flat against her head.

The tom stared off into the distance for a while, her words seeming to hang in the air. Then his head lowered, and his face was shrouded by the tree-tops. Shadows seemed to loom in the morning air as the tom's expression darkened. "You're right. I am a pathetic excuse for a cat..." Then the tom looked up once more, and the smile he gave the she-cat was different from before. Rather than cheerful, it held a painful sadness, and he blinked before adding another pawful of moss to the nest. "But you know... I think I'd rather be a fool than ignore a cat who obviously can't provided on their own. Whether or not you need my help, I can tell that you also realize no matter how many times you shout or rebel, I'll just follow you until you comply." He brightened, this time his smile filled with its former eagerness, and he gestured towards the make-shift den. "At least rest for a while. Think of it this way. If you let me help you, then the faster your paw will heal. As soon as you're better, you can get away from me. Make sense? Now, you'll be pretty bored with your limb all twisted up. We can talk if it helps pass the time." He meowed reasonably, siting down and waiting for the she-cat to respond.

"You're right. I am a pathetic excuse for a cat..." For a moment Minx's ear pricked up to catch the words, hoping that she had finely effected him to some extent. Yet within only a few breaths the moment passed and he was smiling brightly once again. Throwing her head in the air, she let out a long moan of hopeless frustration. Trying to ignore his words, she stared scornful at the earth but it didn't work. Though he did bring up a point. "So if I let that piece of fox-dung fetch me a few meals here and there he'll leave? Ugh. This is so....acckk!" Closing her eyes, Minx spit loudly and swatted forcefully at a overhanging fern dispatching the plant from its stem. Refusing to give him an answer right away, she stood in place fuming about the situation. Finely after what seemd to be hours, the scarred she-cat looked up and fixed an icy gaze at Night. "You'll regret this..." she hissed, but than instead of marching away in the other direction, she took a few wobbly paces forward and flopped bad temperately on the ground. Now refusing to look at him, she positioned herself so that her back was facing the friendly tom and laid slowly down on her side. Only when she had positioned herself comfortably did Minx speak, "but I'm not sleeping in your dumb nest...or talking to you log head!"

Shrugging, the tom smiled. "Oh well, what can a tom do." Laying down, he watched her for a few moments, satisfied and relieved at the same time. Looks like she gave in this time, and she's already somewhat fine with me bringing her food. I do wish I knew her name though... Now doesn't seem like the right time. Sighing, the tom glanced up at the blue sky before looking back at the she-cat. A part of him longed to converse with the loner, yet at the same time he knew it would only annoy her further. Finally, before he could stop himself, he meowed, "Don't you get bored? With no one to talk to I mean... I know I do sometimes."

The black she-cat rolled her eyes to the sky when his voice reached her from behind. "I should cut out his tongue, maybe that would shut him up!" She thought hopefully, although the idea of trying to hold him still didn't phase her much. Tail tip twitching out of annoyance, she cringed and wished at that moment that a hole would appear in front of her so she could bury her head and block out the noise coming from his mouth. Grumbling nothing in particular, Minx shifted her weight and continued to stare at the woods beyond, "No" she mumbled back, "I'm perfectly fine."

Somehow, the tom felt that her answer wasn't entirely truthful, yet it didn't feel like she was lying at the same time. Maybe deep in her subconsience she's lonely, but she herself doesn't know or realize it yet. Blinking, he crossed his forepaws and inhaled the forest scents. He could smell the patch of dandelions over to the side, and the tangled rose bush that had grown enormous in the last moon. It sort of reminded him of the moody she-cat. Beneath all the thorns, there was definitely a hidden inner beauty. With this she-cat, it was hidden extremely well. Realizing that now that she was at least replying, if not grudgingly, he chanced a question he'd been dying to know. "Hey; what's your name anyway?"

Enjoying the silence that came after her reply, Minx relaxed slightly and began to think to herself. "As soon as I can get out of here in good condition...I'm going to hunt him down and silence him for good. Huh! Really....does he really think I'm going to rethink everything after all this? Pfft, think again!" She pondered quitely to herself. "Hey; what's your name anyway?" Minx flinched as if hit by a stone as the question came to her ears. Great. Unsheathing her claws again, she scratched at the ground tearing up the earth. What business was that of his? Hunching her shoulders forward, Minx smirked, "If I tell you will you shut-up?" She grunted.

The tom looked up as though in deep thought, and then he glanced back at the she-cat and smiled. "I might... I could say I will, but there's no guaranteeing I can force myself not to... But I'll do my best to be quiet if you introduce yourself." He smiled kindly as he awaited a response from the disagreeable she-cat. In fact, it was her rebellious nature that charmed him. Most she-cats he met either hated him for his lineage or fell for him, though he didn't completely understand why. But this was the first time he had ever been openly disliked by a cat who knew nothing of his past, and Night found himself intrigued by the she-cat's mysteriously dangerous aura.

Shuffling quitely Minx sighed and closed her eyes. Maybe he would shut-up? "Maybe isn't good enough...but its worth a chance..." Gritting her jagged yellow teeth, the scared pelted rogue shook her maw as if fighting herself. Usually the only cats that knew her name used it in fear, hate...or where dead. "Mmm.." she growled as if still deciding, but finely she gave in, "Minx"

Purring, he gazed up at the sky, eyes light as the sun reflected off luminescant orbs. "Minx, eh? That's a nice name." Resting his head on his paws, he wondered for a moment why he had been named Night. As far as he knew, he was the first cat in his family who had that name, so he wasn't a junior. I wonder if I'll ever have a son or a daughter... I doubt I could start a family with Thorn still out to get me. I couldn't put that pressure or burden on anyone, especially not kits. Sighing, he rolled over onto his side, momentarily leaving the world he was currently in. Moon, Rain, can you see me? What am I supposed to do; find Thorn and fight him, or wait in suspense for the moment when he finally catches up and we battle it out? Why did you have to kill Bane? Why couldn't you wait until it was your turn in line to become King? Isn't it wrong? The suffering I feel is nothing compared to what Thorn must've felt... I'm confused... Furrowing his expression in concern, he sighed and sat up, shaking his head. No good, no good. Worrying won't solve anything. And all this time has passed; the sky already looks rather gray. Glancing up at the atmosphere, he was surprised to see that it was still morning, and the shadows cast down were from foggy rain clouds. Only minutes ago the sun had been shining brightly. But the weather was undoubtedly changing as a cold, icy drop splashed down on his muzzle. "It's raining..." He meowed a little unnecessarily, as though Minx couldn't tell already.

The broad shoulder cat breathed deeply as silence followed Night's answer, her tail brushing quitely over a clump of weeds. No matter her situation, Minx couldn't deny the fact that fatigue had started taken over, the cold damp ground beneath her hardly making good comfort. Like an annoying tick the idea that maybe she could sleep in the soft and much warmer nest entered her thoughts. But hating herself for even thinking it, she curled her lip and shook her head refusing to move. It was than that she felt a fat drop of water splatter gently on the tip of her ear quickly wetting the fur. Ear flickering angrily, Minx mumbled a few curses to herself and buried her muzzle beneath the leaf litter, the smell of soil making her nose itch. "It's raining..." Came the black tom's voice, almost as if he were half talking to himself. Glaring at the brown crumpled leaf resting on her nose, Minx hardly twitched. "Really?" She meowed coldly, "I would have never guessed."
