A swift gust of wind through the warriors den woke Lilypond up. She blinked slowly a few times before fully opening her eyes to the afternoon light. She had done the dawn patrol, and was permitted a short nap before heading back out for a hunt. The warrior raised herself to her paws, yawning as she did. Giving her flank a few good licks to clean it of moss, the she-cat finally exited the den. The sun was high in the sky, giving the camp a bright and lively appearance. Much different from the pale blue and pink shadowy look from that dawn. Lilypond looked around the camp to see who was out. She didn't see her brother. He was probably already hunting. She didn't feel like hunting alone today..."Who would like to hunt with me?" she finally called out.

[green]Fernpelt had been off in her own world, though it wasn't surprising. The she-cat was laying on her back while batting a leaf in the air, a content smile on her face as it floated up, drifted down, and then floated up again. She purred happily until a voice called out into the clearing. Blinking, the beautiful white she-cat turned her head sideways and smiled as she spotted her clanmate, Lilypond. Rolling upright, the white warrior stood up and padded over to the other she-cat. Innocent green eyes bright, she purred as she approached the larger warrior. "I would, if that's alright with you." She meowed, the sun reflecting off her white pelt in a shower of light.[/green]

Lilypond was quickly answered by Fernpelt, who had come over looking in quite a good mood. "I'd not mind at all!" Lilypond purred in reply, flicking her tail toward the camp exit. "Shall we go then?" she added, not wanting to waste time. Her nap had made her feel as though she'd been slacking. Lilypond hated to feel like a slacker. She also looked forward to a nice hunt, running with a clan mate, catching some prey, enjoying the forest...The warrior smiled at the thought. Not for the first time was the she-cat grateful that she was a warrior, and not some kittypet who was locked up to eat pellets...Lilypond forced her thoughts to return to the moment, and blinked at Fernpelt, awaiting a reply.

[green]Smiling, the she-cat nodded eagerly before bounding towards the exit. Casting a glance over her shoulder to make sure that Lilypond was coming, the she-cat turned back around and trotted out of camp, tail swaying cheerfully in the air. Briefly, the she-cat wondered if the other animals in the forest ever wondered what it was like to be a cat. Sometimes she herself tried envisioning herself as a mouse, but all she could come up with was searching for food. She purred in amusement to herself before scenting the air. She would do her best to bring back prey for her clan, after all, it would be wrong to make Lilypond do all the work. Smiling, she took in the forest smells until she had detected the familiar, dusky smell of squirrel. Blinking, she glanced up into the trees to see one of the creatures bounding from the lower branches. It dissappeared in a hollow before showing up moments later. Pausing, she waited until it had alighted on the ground, and Fernpelt fell into a crouch as she crept up on the succulent prey.[/green]

Lilypond followed Fernpelt quickly out of the camp, her tail slightly fluffed with energy and excitement. The prospect of a good hunt made the she-cat smile. She had just made it out of camp, and was no more than a few fox lengths away when she spotted Fernpelt in a hunter's crouch. Following the warrior's gaze, and her own nose, Lilypond realized that Fernpelt was hunting a squirrel. Lilypond sank silently to her belly, not wanting to draw attention to herself and startle the squirrel. The black cat watched her friend stalk the mouse. She lay quiet, still, and undetectable in the undergrowth of the forest. Around her the breeze rustled leaves of trees, and a fly buzzed near her nose. She wanted to swat at it, but held her swat back, for fear of ruining Fernpelt's hunt...Thankfully, the fly left her be after a moment and Lilypond's control was not tested too harshly.

[green]The squirrel's head poked up, as though it were scanning the forest for something, and Fernpelt held her breath in silence. Luckily for her, it sat back down and continued with what it was doing, bounding a little closer to the tree. But that didn't matter. The warrior was close enough now to get a good shot, and with a powerful kick from her hindlegs, she lunged gracefully through the air, pinning the squirrel beneath one paw and biting its neck. As the animal went limp, she picked it up, setting it off to the side, where she then kicked a light layer of dirt over it. Blinking, she smiled at Lilypond, wondering what her friend would find next. [/green][/center]

"That was a great catch!" Lilypond purred to her friend. The squirrel looked large and healthy. A good piece of prey for Thunderclan cats. Sniffing the air, Lilypond tasted for bird. She felt like jumping, and a bird would be a much better way to do so than just randomly bouncing around. She saved those outbursts of randomness for when she was annoying her brother...The she-cat turned her eyes to a tree a few fox lengths away. A bird was absentmindedly pecking the ground in search of seeds. Lilypond dropped low and crept over, keeping her paws light and her muscles prepared to spring. When she was within reach, she jumped high. The bird saw her rise and took off. Luckily, Lilypond had anticipated this move, and had gone high. She was on the bird in no time, and quickly finished it off. She padded back over to Fernpelt, dropping the bird next to the squirrel. The bird's black feathers contrasted with the squirrels gingery fluff. It was a nice variety they would bring back to camp with them. The warrior smiled, her eyes bright.

[green]Smiling in thanks for the compliment, Fernpelt watched in silent concentration as she observed her clanmate's hunting tactics. Instantly, her face broke into smiles and she bounded over to the she-cat. "Wow! How did you anticipate its movements? You're a great hunter. I would've lost that one for sure." Purring, she wondered vaguely why warriors always seemed to catch prey when it was busy eating. A brief ghostly sensation swept over her when she wondered if anything was stalking them while they were hunting. But the feeling passed swiftly and was replaced by her determination to feed Thunderclan. "All righty, my turn!" She chirped, scenting the air. She picked up two mice in opposite directions of each other, a raven perched far up in an elm tree, pellets containing the remains of a vole (most likely from an owl), the strong scent of honey from a nearby beehive, and a rabbit that had wandered into the forest and away from its familiar moores. Blinking, she grinned and crouched down, spotting the dusty brown fur. It stood out against the leafy green background, and she crept forward, keeping as quiet as possible so as not to alert its fine ears. Within three fox-lengths, it suddenly shot its head up and dashed for a bush. Shocked at how it had noticed her despite her complete silence, the she-cat sprang forward, sprinting after the rabbit. A figure shot in front of her, and a resounding SMACK filled the air upon impact. Tumbling into the ground, she literally flipped in an accidental sumersault over the creature's back, and she landed in a dazed heap. [/green] Struggling upright, Breathwhisp blinked dust out of his eyes, sides burning from where he had collided with his clanmate. The last thing he could remember was stalking the rabbit when he had accidentally walked into a tree and startled it. He'd given chase, only to run into whatever it is he had just hit. Staggering slightly, he shook his head to clear away the ringing in his ears, and he blinked in surprise as he realized he had run over his fellow warrior. "Fernpelt! Great Starclan, are you alright? I didn't see you there." [green]Slowly pulling herself upright, the white cat blinked before grinning. She hadn't been hurt, even if the thrill of being slammed into the ground wasn't all that pleasing. "Breathwhisp? Yes, I'm fine. Sorry about that. We were just hunting, I didn't mean to take your prey."[/green] The tom shrugged and smiled, noticing Lilypond a little way's off. Brightening at the sight of another one of his clanmates, the gray tom waved his tail in greeting. "Lilypond! Sorry for literally running into you two unexpectedly. I hope I didn't scare off any of your game..." He smiled apologetically, and most cats found it hard not to forgive the tom's charming expression. [/center]

Lilypond saw her friend take off after a rabbit, and then suddenly, Fernpelt was stumbling backward as if she had be knocked into by something larger than a rabbit...Lilypond raced over to her clanmate, only to realize the large obstacle had been Breathwhisp. The gray tom apologized for the colision....It seemed to her that both cats were chasing the same prey and the result had been, well, she couldn't help but giggle. That happened to her a lot whenever she hunted with Duskfur. They were very much alike, which resulted in intuitions of hunting the same prey...Lilypond heard her name and snapped out of her quiet laughter. "It's alright Breathwhisp! And you didn't scare anything off I think. I'm sure there will still be plenty of prey to bring back by the end of the hunt. Would you like to join our little hunting party?" she asked the tom, smiling at him.
Duskfur had been hunting since the sun had risen, and had already deposited one load of prey to the camp. He had a feeling that if he kept hunting, he would run into cats to hunt with, so he returned to the forest and moments later, he spotted Breathwhisp, Fernpelt, and his own sister talking in a clearing. Some prey lay nearby, and he guessed they were hunting together. "Hi!" he meowed as he came over. "Mind if I join your hunt?" The question was more for Fernpelt and Breathwhisp than for Lilypond. He knew she would most likely say yes...Sure enough, he saw her nod her head invitingly. He gave her a look that said, 'I knew you'd do that.' His sister just laughed.

[green]Smiling, Fernpelt waved her tail as another figure arrived. Recognizing the tom as Lilypond's brother, she purred a greeting. "The more the merrier. I didn't think just Lilypond and I could bring back all the prey ourselves anyway." She joked, standing up and shaking the dust from her pelt.[/green] [yellow]Blinking and smiling brightly at the invitation, Breathwhisp nodded and turned as Duskfur approached the trio. "Duskfur, you're more than welcome to." Glad that there were so many cats in one spot, he felt a sense of satisfaction as he realized that, even if you went off on your own, you never were truly alone if you belonged to a clan. Lilypond hear Fernpelt's joke and laughed. "Yeah Duskfur. I will need you to carry all my catches!" she bumped her brother's shoulder while he gave a sigh of fake agitation. The two cats laughed. Lilypond was feeling the joy and good energy that came with being in a large group of cats you saw as family. She smiled brightly at the others.
"Shall we start then?" Duskfur asked, his paws suddenly itching to hunt yet again. He loved to run and catch prey. Thunderclan would be very well fed by evening! Four cats together on a hunt almost always equaled a great fresh kill pile by evening... The dark tom rose to his paws, and looked at the others for the signal to begin.

[green]Nodding enthusiastically, the she-cat giggled at the siblings' antics. "Right, sounds good." She purred, blue eyes scanning the forest's depths as she picked a spot where the prey scent was plentiful without getting in the way of her clanmates' hunting. Scenting the air, she picked up the strong scent of mouse, and Fernpelt fell into a crouch as she crawled towards the smell.[/green] [yellow]Simply nodding in response, Breathwhisp smiled as he tasted the forest scents. He could faintly pick up vole, and as he happened to glance upwards, he spotted a chaffinch nested in a sycamore tree. However, the tom wasn't really in the mood to climb trees. He never was, ever since the storm that night... Blinking, he shook off the feeling of rain and wind and instead set his sights on the vole. "Well, good luck with all of your hunting. I'll try not to run into any of you next time." He purred, half joking though there was truth to his words. Turning back to face the location of his quarry, the tom trotted quietly off in the vole's direction, finally falling into a hunter's position.[/yellow] [/center]

Duskfur flicked his tail in his sister's face jokingly before padding off on his own to hunt. He picked out three scents....Vole, but he knew Breathwhisp was after it, Mouse, which Fernpelt had gone toward, and chaffinch, up in a tree next to him. Duskfur was feeling up to the climb, so he went to a tree next to the one that supported his prey. He carefully climbed higher, until he was on a branch just above the chaffinch. With complete silence, Duskfur crept closer to the edge. At a mouse length above the bird, he dropped onto it. It never even felt him coming. He killed it quickly, and returned to the forest floor. He dropped his prey near his sister and smiled. She rolled her eyes and muttered, "Showoff." before laughing and going off to find her own prey. Duskfur laughed too.

[yellow]Sights set on the vole, the tom was pin-quiet as he waited for just the right moment. Bunching up the muscles in his hindlegs, the tom tensed before lunging forward, forepaws pinning the vole to the ground before his fangs closed around its neck. Gently lifting the animal in his jaws, he glanced over in time to spot Duskfur setting down the chaffinch he had spotted earlier. Well, that's good. This way it can feed the clan anyway. Smiling to himself, he padded over and dropped the vole before looking around. Failing to notice the sparrow nested on his left side, the tom took on a puzzle look, wondering where all the prey had gone. However, it took but several seconds until a mouse, startled by the cats, made a desperate dash towards the roots of an oak. Reflexes kicking in, the tom took off like lightning, paws moving swiftly as he chased after the mouse.[/yellow] [green]"Ow..." The she-cat muttered, flexing her paw as she pouted. Glancing wistfully over at where the mouse had escaped into its hole, she sighed, standing up and gingerly setting her limb back onto the forest floor. Dissappointed at having failed to catch the succulent creature, she scented the air, grinning again as she instantly forgot the mouse she had failed to catch. Instead, she set her sights on a fluffy if not skinny squirrel that was clinging to the side of a small tree standing shorter than its comrades. Growling hungrily, Fernpelt crept towards it, white fur standing out despite her eagerness. Ooooo, lots of fur. Nice and fuzzy. It'll be perfect for a nest! Though it might make the elders hungry. That would mean we warriors would have to hunt even more! And I'd catch more squirrels, and get more fur, and make them hungrier, and make as hunt more squirrels, and then... Her thoughts trailed off until she was sitting in place, unaware that her imagination had caused her multi-tasking to fail and keeping her unmoving. However, as the squirrel skittered closer to the ground, the she-cat blinked and realized she had drifted off. Seeing that she had little time before the squirrel noticed her presence, the she-cat sprinted forward, claws unsheathing as she aimed directly above the squirrel. As she'd predicted, the creature spotted her and shot upwards; right into her waiting claws. With a squeak that was cut off abruptly, she felled the creature, watching it drop like a stone as she sheathed her claws. [/center][/green]

Lilypond watched her brother bring back the chaffinch, and she teased him about the daring catch. However, the joking didn't last long. She saw that both Fernpelt and Breathwhisp had also caught prey, and decided she didn't want to fall too far behind. The sleek black she-cat raised her head, taking in the many forest scents. There was mouse, chaffinch, vole, squirrel...these things were all very close though, for obvious reasons. Se would need to move farther away to scent fresh prey. Lilypond walked away from the already hunted prey, heading for a small birch tree. Using her nose, she discovered a mouse scuffling around its roots. She smiled to herself, pleased that she came this way. Creeping slowly forward, the she-cat was soon right on top of the creature. In a flash of claws and fur, Lilypond had a dead mouse in her jaws. Happy that she now had caught something like the others, Lilypond went to deposit her catch to their small pile.
Duskfur was glad to see how well their hunt was going so far. He sniffed around for more prey, but the smells of the surrounding successful hunts confused his nose. He moved father away, sniffing out the air for signs of food. He smelled rabbit, but as he moved to head to even see it, it bolted from a shrub next to him, and was gone before he could even move a paw. It had smelled close, and he guessed he wouldn't have had much chance to catch it, but the dark tom was still glad no other cat had seen him startle the potential meal...
