[yellow]As his paws drove him closer and closer to the mouse, Breathwhisp could practically feel its fur beneath his claws. Until... THUMP With a resounding noise, the tom ran head first into a tree, sending the leaves shuddering on the impact. Falling backwards, his head felt numb at first, his entire body trembling from the collision. Stunned, he lay on his back for several moments before the effects faded, and the tingling in his body was replaced by a dull aching that turned to a throbbing in his forehead. Cursing under his breath, the tom crumpled forward, pawing futilely at his head. The warrior was always running into things, but this was the first time he'd done so at a full sprint. His head felt as though it was exploding with millions of thorns jutting into every part of his skull, and it took several minutes until he had recovered enough to stand up. Though he felt a bit light-headed and dizzy, he instantly remembered the mouse. But as he looked around, the prey was nowhere in sight, and he was filled with a deep sense of disappointment. If I had two good eyes, I might've caught it. However, he shook off the pessimistic thoughts and smiled instead. There was still plenty more prey. Starclan would give him a second chance.[/yellow] [green]Padding over to the pile the cats had formed, she smiled as she spotted Lilypond at the same time. Setting down the squirrel, she purred as she spotted the mouse her friend had caught. "The forest's really plentiful in Green-leaf, huh? Hopefully everyone can sleep with a full stomach after this." Smiling, she looked up cheerfully at her friend before trotting off into the bushes in search of a new victim. [/center][/green]

Lilypond nodded enthusiastically to Fernpelt before turning around to hunt some more. She thought she heard a thud somewhere in the distance, and paused a moment to listen. However, after several long beats of silence, she continued on her way, chocking the noise up to her imagination. Lilypond had a good spurt of hunting, catching two more mice and a shrew. She crammed all of the prey into her mouth, and half carried, half dragged in to the pile where they were depositing the prey. She ran into her brother, who was placing a blackbird and a second chaffinch in the pile. She nodded to him, dropped her prey, and complimented him as he did her.
Duskfur looked at their pile of prey. It was growing rapidly, and he was sure his clan would be full for the night. Greenleaf was honestly the best season to hunt. Newleaf wasn't half bad either, but much of the prey was young, and by Greenleaf, it had grown to be a more pleasant meal...

[yellow]Stretching his hindlegs, Breathwhisp smiled as he scented the air, glad to be in the forest. The breeze, the green scenery, the small flowers that peeped out at him; they all reminded him of how wonderfully brilliant life could be if you just let it. Even Leaf-bare cheered the tom. The sparkly white diamonds of snow always reflected the sun, even in the darkest storms. His right eye clouded as he recalled the night he'd lost his mother. The feeling of icy cold water swirling around, sucking him under. Struggling for air, screaming for her... Blinking, he was slightly surprised that he had allowed himself to drift off, and he shook his head vigorously before setting off to follow a nearby mouse.[/yellow] [green]Waggling her rump, the she-cat sprang high into the air, front paws wrapping around the end of a branch as she barely caught onto it. Claws shooting out instantaneously, she pulled herself up despite the swaying of the limb. Finally, Fernpelt was able to seat herself comfortably in the tree, fur fluffed up as she held onto the treacherously thin branch. Eyes narrowing, she smiled mischeviously, crouching on her perch as she aimed for a higher branch where a large crow was dozing off. With a sudden Mrrroww, the she-cat lunged, left forepaw smacking down on the branch while the right swung sideways, colliding with the bird's forehead. It didn't have time to cry out as it dropped stone-dead to the tree roots, and the she-cat hung on with both paws. Her hindlegs slipped farther down, and her claws dug in as she felt sap leeking onto her fur. Oh, danggit. That'll be a bother to get out. Dismissing her thoughts for the future, she let herself fall, tail twisting her in mid-air so that she landed on all fours'. Still, the impact was bone-jarring, and her limbs rang from the force, threatening to clatter to pieces at any moment. Padding over to the dead crow, she picked it up in her mouth and headed back to the clearing where the rest of the prey was. [/green][/center]

"Impressive!" Lilypond meowed to Fernpelt, as she happened to see the she-cat catch the crow. "That looked painful though..." she meowed kindly, as she indicated the landing. "I always hate falling from trees." she joked. It was half true. She had a nasty fall once as an apprentice. Come to think of it, she had many bad accidents in her life. Oh the price of being a risk taker. She smiled slightly at the thought.
Duskfur was off hunting a wood pigeon, and was lost in his own world. He had just caught a mouse, and before that a vole. He felt like he was on a good streak, and this made his paws fill with energy!
OOC: Sorry that one is so short!

[It wasn't short. xD That's considered pretty long to some people, FYI. Lol. ^^] [yellow]Setting the mouse down, the tom dropped it in their pile, which had taken on considerable size. Squirrel, some unidentified bird, chaffinch, vole, squirrel, mouse, mouse, mouse, shrew, blackbird, chaffinch, crow, vole, mouse, mouse. Smiling as he noted the prey they had all collected, he looked up in time to see a robin flitting overhead. However, it was too high up to reach, and he had a feeling if it landed soon, then one of his clanmates would catch it. Looking back down, he noted that he himself had hardly caught anything compared to his clanmates. I missed that rabbit when I ran into Fernpelt, and I only caught a mouth-full of bark when I chased that mouse... I should try and make up for those failed efforts. Smiling at his decision, he trotted off to where he scented a shrew, tail swaying cheerfully in the warm breeze.[/yellow] [green]Purring as she set down the crow, Fernpelt shook her head, smiling brightly. "Anyone could've caught it. And it's actually quite fun! It's almost like flying, though failing on the landing part." She laughed, glad that she was hunting with a friend. She didn't know Duskfur or Breathwhisp that well, so she was thankful that Lilypond was so outgoing. It made it easier to chat despite that the fact that she herself was a little... Well, how would you put it... Different, in the way that she focused more on squirrel fur than on the actual meat. [/green][/center]

Duskfur couldn't help but give a grin as he realized just how much prey they would be taking back to camp. Each member of Thunderclan would have a full meal for sure! He disposed of his prey into their ever enlarging pile, before lashing a paw out at a robin that fluttered just a little too low for its own good. The blow caught the robin across its neck, and surprisingly did not break it. However, the bird was dazed and Duskfur took advantage of that. He pounced with no hesitation, and soon had a robin to add to their stock.
Lilypond laughed at Fernpelt's joke. She liked this she-cat a lot. They seemed to get on well. Maybe because both were a little off beat from the clan's typical cat or warrior. Lilypond purred. "I tried to catch a bird earlier, and ended up catching a large spider all from the falling part..." she joked "I kinda landed on it." Lilypond flashed a sheepish smile. She wasn't really embarrassed though. Her hunt was going well, as seemed to be every other cat's. Besides, she never got upset if she missed a catch, unless it was every attempt, in front of Silentstar of coarse!
OOC: Why thank you!

OOC: ^^ Tis just the truth my friend. [yellow]In a mere matter of seconds, the tom had crouched and taken the shrew down, setting it lightly on the prey pile that had grown nearly larger than himself. Looking over his shoulder, he happened to spot Duskfur through the trees, hunting the robin he'd seen earlier. Smiling, he looked over at where Lilypond and Fernpelt were talking. It was nice to get out on such a warm day, and he had a feeling they wouldn't regret getting up early. When they walked into camp with all that prey, the looks of anticipation on his clanmates' faces would be enough to keep him encouraged and determined to catch even more. Turning and walking back to where he'd found the shrew, a mouse suddenly darted from the grass, and, his reflexes kicking in, Breathwhisp's paw shot out, knocking the rodent to the side before he pounced and finished it. Well, I guess this sort of makes up for the one I missed earlier. The gray tom couldn't help but smile as he recalled his incident with the tree, but he brushed it aside.[/yellow] [green]Purring in amusement, Fernpelt was glad that she was a part of a clan. She couldn't imagine how lonely it must be to be a Rouge. Loners chose to live on their own, so she wasn't sure whether they got tired of their solitary life-style. But most Rouges had led tough lives, which resulted in them leaving the clans or being exiled from their previous families or whatever it was that had happened to them. I should be thankful that Bluesong brought me here and didn't leave to live as a Rouge. I can't imagine what my life would be like if she'd done that. Blinking away her thoughts as she realized she was drifting, she smiled pleasantly at her friend. "Well, it's what now that counts. We can both make up for our mistakes in the past by paying for it in prey!" She meowed energetically, white tail swaying. [/green][/center]

"Yeah!" purred Lilypond, her own black tail swaying back and forth. It disturbed leaves and the she-cat reflected briefly on how nice the feeling of dry leaves was...She then flipped her mind back to the matter at paw. Eyes narrowing, the black cat gazed around for more prey. She didn't expect to see much, since she and Fernpelt had been less than quiet just now. The she-cat was therefore surprised to see a small mouse sniffing around a tree root. It moved oddly, its ears never once twitching. Lilypond wondered if maybe it was deaf, and was coming to that conclusion the more she watched it move without seeming to listen for danger once. Then her hunter instincts kicked in. Her pale green eyes focused completely on the mouse, and she slowly crept closer. Only when she was a tail length away from the mouse did it realize the danger. However, at that point it was too late. Lilypond was upon it and the struggle was over before it could begin. Lilypond picked up the mouse, brought it to the pile, and then smiled at Fernpelt. "That makes up for the spider thing I believe!" she meowed lightly.

[green]Nodding enthusiastically, Fernpelt smiled at her friend. "Mmhmm!" She hummed in agreement, looking around for any prey that had decided to stick around despite the obvious threat the cats posed. At first, she found nothing, not relying on scent for fear that she might confuse the living prey with the dead, caught ones. However, her eye caught a flicker of movement in the bushes, and several moments later she caught sight of a fat... What in Starclan's name is that? She thought, narrowing her eyes and staring harder, trying to pick out what the creature was. With brown fur, all she could make out was its slender pointed face; far too small to be a fox, yet larger than a mouse or vole. As it slid further out of the undergrowth, it revealed thorn-sharp claws attatched to stubby forelegs. Sleek chestnut fur and beady amber eyes were concentrated on a nearby starling, and the she-cat wondered how she had missed the bird earlier. As the mystery animal crept towards the unsuspecting bird, its body was in full view, and she almost gasped aloud as she recognized the creature as a weasel. She'd only seen one once before, when her mother had been dropping her and her siblings off in the different clans. Back then, Bluesong had hissed at the animal, and that had been enough to scare it off. But that one had still been a baby, barely bigger than herself as a kit. This one was much larger, with glistening white fangs and a devilish appearance. Tensing, she figured if she let it catch the starling first, she could risk taking it down afterwards and hitting two birds with one swipe. As the weasel paused, she watched in amazement as, with lightning speed, it dashed forward, striking the bird with its jaws and killing it with a single bite to the neck. However, she wasn't about to lose her prey to the rodent, and with a powerful kick off the ground, she sprinted towards the animal, claws flashing out as she slammed hard into its side. Even though the weasel was slightly smaller and skinnier than her, she was surprised by its strength as it squirmed free, baring its fangs and darting forward. Leaping back just in time to avoid a painful bite to the foreleg, the white cat hissed and swatted at the side of the weasel's head. In one swift, fluid movement, it had ducked backwards before striking again, this time heading straight towards her. Figuring it was aiming for her throat, she ducked sideways, raking her claws down its side as it shot by. With a pained snarl, it whirled around, digging its fangs into her hindleg. With a startled gasp of pain, she kicked out instinctively, slamming the weasel's body into the dust before she suddenly swung her upperbody sideways, shutting her jaws around the animal's neck in a death grip. Still, it was persistent and refused to release her. In fact, it bit down even harder, as if it had realized it was going to die but wanted to cause his opponent as much pain as possible. As she tightened her grip, feeling warm blood fill her mouth, the weasel clamped down harder, razor sharp teeth easily slicing through her thin coat and into her flesh. Though her leg stung like a hundred bee-stings, she knew there was only a little more to go before it finally gave in. With one final forceful closing of her jaws, she silenced the weasel forever, feeling its body go limp as she gently pulled it free of her limb. Setting it down, she examined the damage it had inflicted on her hindleg and was relieved to see that, though it appeared to be bleeding a lot, the wound wasn't deep. [/center][/green]

Lilypond followed Fernpelt's gaze to a strange chestnut colored creature. Its pointed face and sharp claws showed it was not here to play. It stalked closer to a Starling, before dashing in for the kill at a speed few cats could match. Lilypond suddenly realized what this thing was. Her mentor had once mentioned meeting a weasel in the forest. They were rare to be seen, but could put up a formidable fight the larger they grew...Lilypond was wondering what to do when her friend lunged at the weasel, fighting it and hissing between blows. Lilypond was about to join the fight, especially after Fernpelt became wounded, when the other she-cat suddenly finished the foe off. Dragging the weasel to the prey pile, Fernepelt examined her wound. Lilypond looked at it too. There was a great deal of blood, though the cut was shallow. "That was brilliant!" Lilypond purred. She was surprised to hear a familiar echo in her words. Her brother stood behind her and had chose that moment to say the exact same thing. She smiled, guessing that while absorbed in her friend's battle, she never noticed her brother come over.
Duskfur deposited a shrew in the prey pile. He was contemplating startling his sister, who was totally not paying attention to what was behind her, when he realized what she was looking at. The weasel was large, fuzzy, and menacing looking. Duskfur had seen one once as a very young apprentice, and his mentor had frightened it away. However, it had been nowhere near this size...Duskfur watched in amazement as Fernpelt took on the creature, fighting bravely and skillfully until the weasel was no more. "That was brilliant!" he meowed along with Lilypond.

[yellow]Breathwhisp had wandered off somewhere deeper into the forest, unaware of what was going on in the clearing. Rather, the smokey tom was focused on stalking a rather clever mouse that kept skittering further and further away from him while still remaining close to its hole and seemingly unaware of his presence.[/yellow] [green]Blinking, the she-cat blushed and shook her head, suddenly bursting out in laughter at the siblings' simultaneous response. "Do you two have telepathy or something?" She purred, smiling at her clanmates. Rather, having seen the bond between the littermates, she felt an uncharacteristic pain inside, though she tried to ignore it. She was happy that her friend had a littermate she was close to, and Fernpelt found herself in slight envy of the she-cat. [/green][/center]

Duskfur laughed at the joke. "No. But mother used to say we each only got half of the same brain. And that would explain our likeness and ignorance." he purred. His mother had teased her kits a lot, but always in a loving, purely joking way. He smiled at the memory of his mother. He missed her sometimes. The dull pain that ached suddenly in his chest caught the warrior off guard. He quickly busied himself with pulling a nonexistent thorn from his foot.
Lilypond was laughing, and smiling with the others. It was then that she caught a glimpse of each of her companion's emotions. Fernpelt looked rather distant and sad, while her brother looked as though a thought had bitten him unexpectedly. He bent to remove a thorn from his foot, but knowing her brother as she did, Lilypond was certain there was no thorn. Instead, she guessed that Duskfur was missing their mother, as she did sometimes when she was alone...Th black she-cat looked up at Fernpelt again, but couldn't detect the source of the other she-cat's distress.

[=O OMG! Sorry for the late reply!!! -begs for forgiveness- Oh, btw, x3 Is it ok with you if Fernpelt develops somewhat of a crush on Duskfur?] [green]Fernpelt smiled, erasing the feelings from her mind. After all, it felt as though all of Thunderclan was her family, and it wasn't so bad when she thought of it that way. White tail wrapping around her, she figured they could let hunting wait a while. After all, it already looked like they'd have their paws full with all this prey. "Duskfur, is there something in your paw?" She meowed, noticing how the tom appeared to be trying to tug a thorn or whatever it was, loose from his limb. Blinking, she reminded herself that the warriors could care for themselves on her their own, and she smiled softly at her own lack of faith. I do wonder where Breathwhisp ran off to though... She thought, suddenly remembering the tom.[/green] [yellow]Breathwhisp, on the other hand, could think of nothing but tracking the mouse ahead of him, and his claws unsheathed as he finally closed in on it. Springing forward, his paws slammed down on where the mouse had been a split-second ago, and he leaped after it as it darted for its hole. Paws sliding on the ground, he swung out at it, catching it in the hind-quarters and throwing it sideways and far from its home. With a startled squeak, it lay stunned, and he spun on his hindpaws, lunging towards it. However, it recovered just in time, squealing loudly as it did so and dashing for the cover of a nearby holly bush. But the tom was faster, and he jumped up and over the rodent, sailing forwards and landing, blocking off the escape route. Skidding to a halt, the mouse darted sideways instead, heading towards an open clearing that Breathwhisp knew was at a lack of foilage. Perfect. He thought, grinning as he vanished into the bushes, taking a different route. The mouse didn't stop running until it broke through the bracken and tumbled into the center of the clearing. At the same moment, from several fronds on the side, the gray tom sprinted forward, catching the mouse with a blow to the head. Knocked sideways, it lay still, eyes wide as it twitched. Standing over it, the tom's claws flashed out, and the creature's life was ended in one swift motion. [/center][/yellow]

OOC: Sure! He can develope a crush on her too then. Like he notices her crush, and realizes he has one too...=)
IC: Duskfur looked up and pretended to have finished. "Um, yeah, there was a thorn. I got it out though..." his meow trailed off, and he hoped it wasn't too obvious he'd been covering up for his emotional episode. He had regained his composure though, and was back to being calm and normal. He glanced at Fernpelt, she looked better again too. Moments before he had noticed her eyes fill with a flash of some internal turmoil. He guessed he must have imagined it, projecting his own feelings onto her or something of the sort. He gave her a smile.
Lilypond suddenly remembered Breathwhisp. "Where did Breathwhisp get to?" she voiced her inquisitive thought. Looking at their prey pile, which was about as large as the four cats combined, the black she-cat figured they should get it to camp soon. "Perhaps we should wrap up soon. This lot won't be easy to get back to camp." she meowed, flicking her tail toward their gargantuan prey pile. She looked around her, as though hoping Breathwhisp would appear in their clearing, ready to help them lug their catches back to the Thunderclan camp.

[Ok! =D Lol xD Imagine if Breathwhisp left them to carry everything. Lolz. x3] [green]The she-cat smiled at him in relief, glad that it hadn't been anything serious. She recalled once when her mentor had stepped on a thorn. He'd ignored it and that had resulted in him getting an infection in his paw. Luckily the Medicine Cat had healed it before it could get worse, but she still couldn't shake the anxious feeling she'd felt at the time. Flicking her ears forward, she felt a twinge of jealousy towards Lilypond. If I had a brother like Duskfur, I'd never have a reason to be upset. Sighing inwardly, the she-cat blinked as Lilypond mention the tom warrior who had apparently disappeared, and she tried to recall the last time she'd seen the cat before going about her own hunting.[/green] [yellow]Feeling triumphant, warm, and fuzzy inside, the tom started back towards where the others were, mouse dangling proudly from his muzzle. Amber eye shining, he glanced sideways, noticing a blackbird nestled in one of the lower branches. Dropping the mouse, he crouched, sneaking up until he had closed the distance between them before pouncing and bringing down the bird. Dragging it over to the mouse, Breathwhisp somehow managed to fit both animals into his maw. Then, fully loaded, he trotted back to his clanmates, pushing his way through the ferns and stopping at the edge of the clearing. His left eye widened slightly when he noticed how the prey pile had grown, but he brushed it aside and padded over, smiling. Setting down the prey, he grinned at the three. "Well, I think we have more than we can hold now." He purred, tail swaying good-naturedly. [/center][/yellow]
