[maroon]The force sent a shudder through his bones as he collided with the Riverclanner, and he felt needle-sharp claws dig into his pelt. Green eyes flashed as his hindpaws hit the ground and slid him sideways until he'd regained balance. Fangs were aimed at his shoulder, and he twisted sideways just in time to avoid Russetstorm's jaws. Lashing out at the tom's chin, his talons extended and he dove forward, ducking down at the last moment as he aimed to bite down on the warrior's foreleg. However, in the seconds that he was moving, many thoughts rushed through his head. Why am I doing this? This isn't the cat I hate, this isn't the one I'm meant to kill. His eyes narrowed. The only real reason he was fighting was because his clanmates were troubled, but other then that, this fight was unnecessary. Momentarily he considered stopping and leaving, but then he decided there was no harm in battling, and Thornstrike swatted at the tom's head, hoping to slice the warrior's ears. [/center][/maroon]

A flash of pain met his chin, and then teeth sunk into his foreleg and he stumbled, crashing harder into the tom. Digging his claws deep into the flesh, he let himself fall onto her side so he could kick out strongly with unsheathed hind claws at his attacker. Releasing his grip, he rolled away, and felt pain rip through one of his ear. Blood dripped down from the wound, and into the fur on the side of his face. Hissing with rage, amber eyes locked onto his enemy and he aimed a heavy blow at the tom's muzzle, while lashing out with his other paw towards chest. His muscles tensed, ready to leap out of the way, while his long tail lashed and kept him balanced as he attacked.

[maroon]Hissing as the tom's hindlegs slammed hard into his side, he felt his own fur and blood splash to the ground as the warrior's claws slashed repeatedly through his pelt. Jabbing at the tom's flanks, he reared back as blood blinded him temporarily. His muzzle stung, and he could feel the scarlet liquid of injury dripping down his face. Spitting the moisture onto the ground, he backed up just in time to avoid the full force of the blow as Russetstorm aimed for his chest. Though the Riverclan warrior made a single slice through the soft fur, Thornstrike charged forward almost immediately, fangs lunging for the tom's shoulder as his foreclaws latched onto his opponent's side. --------[/maroon] [navy]Icewreath wasn't sure what the commotion was, but it was certainly noisy, and the tom didn't hesitate to rush over to where the sounds were coming from. The black tom halted and drew his lips back in a snarl as he spotted the Windclan intruders, and it didn't take long until he had accompanied his clanmates. "What in Starclan's name is going on here?" He hissed, glaring first at Thymemoon before he noticed the three Windclan cats. One was fighting, while the other two seemed to be.... Is she stuck in a hole? Stupid Windclanner. The tom narrowed his eyes and stalked over to the two. He hissed at Featherpaw before unsheathing his claws and casting a venomous look at Dewdrop. "Well? Why are you on Riverclan territory?" His fur was bristling as he noted that Russetstorm was already engaged in battle, and his claws urged to rip through enemy fur. [/center][/navy]

Russetstorm hissed with rage as he fall a piercing pain on his flanks, and his amber eyes burned. He felt teeth sink into his shoulder, and he snarled as he was knocked over, and he felt himself smashing into the ground. Snarling, his claws found themselves ripping angrily into his enemy's pelt, though he was too angry to see where he was striking the tom. Filled with rage, he kicked out with his hind legs to connect with the warriors face.
----
Dewdrop hissed at the tom that stalked over to her, and a fresh RiverClan stench washed over her. She felt Featherpaw flinch closer into her fur, and she glared at the tom. "Why do you think, mouse-brain?" She hissed angrily, lashing her long tail. She wasn't going to take to this tom being bossy and scaring an apprentice of her clan, even if Featherpaw wasn't even her apprentice. "Move," she growled, trying to push past and get to her own part of the body. She lashed out with one forepaw to try and shove him away.

[maroon]Thornstrike snarled in pain as he was thrown backwards by the tom's paws. Though his ears rang, he managed to stumble upright, one eye half-closed. He didn't like the fact that the tom had scratched the orb with his claws, and he was now convinced he had plenty of reason to hate the cat if he ended up half-blind. Hissing, he lashed out at the side of Russetstorm's face, trying to flip the tom onto his side so he could slice open his vulnerable under-belly.[/maroon] --------- [navy]Looking doubtfully at the she-cat, Icewreath hissed as she swung at him, and he backed up out of the way before aiming a blow at her ears. "Make me." He hissed, narrowing his eyes as he glared at the warrior. [/center][/navy]

Lightwing had watched Russetstorm and Thornstrike battle, unsure if she should really join the fight. Much as the rage pumping through her veins told her to, the warrior code said this was less than decent. In the end, Lightwing's inner warrior won out. "STOP!" she shrieked. She looked at the Windclan cat with anger, but mostly disgust. "We are acting against the code. Would Heraldstar appreciate this?" she spat at Thornstrike. Even as she said it, she doubted the tom would care what his leader thought. From the way he spoke, and his history of murder...he didn't sound like the kind of cat to take orders or respect a rank. She looked back at Thymemoon, hoping for the deputy to back her up...She was trying hard not to jump on Thornstrike, doing her best to put the code first. She wanted, no, needed another cat to step in. Otherwise, she would lose her control and jump on that sickening excuse for a warrior.

OOC: Np, I took forever. xD
[maroon]Thornstrike paused, kicking forward with his hindpaws and seperating from his opponent. Casting a cold look at Lightwing, he stood still, as though some hint of emotion was struggling to be found amidst the venom in the tom's gaze. "No one ever learns to appreciate anything. Life, death, they're all the same. In the end, nothing really matters unless you've done whatever it is you're meant to do. It doesn't matter what Heraldstar appreciates or not, in the end we all do whatever we think is best." His eyes narrowed, and the blood dripping from his left eye only made the tom seem more intimidating, in a strange, mysteriously frightening way. His tail flicked once through the air, sending a spray of blood against the ground before he looked back at Russetstorm. A grin appeared on his expression again, and he meowed, "Well, what do you think Riverclanny? You want to stop here, or are you going to do what your feelings are telling you to? Run with your tail between your legs, or stand and fight like a real cat." His muscles tensed, and his eyes narrowed, claws sliding back out and glistening with the blood of his foe.[/maroon]

Pantherclaw was walking along near the border, sniffing for prey when the sounds of a battle caught his attention. He watched silently from the bushes, and was going to interject when Lightwing seemed to stop the fight. But then the tom noticed Thornstrike's claws come back out, and heard him meow something that sounded like further threats. Pantherclaw decided to join whatever was happening. "My clanmate is no coward." Pantherclaw meowed loudly, as he caught the last part of Thorstrike's speech. "And you are no warrior! Look at you! Dripping in another cat's blood, and unable to stop fighting even when the battle is pointless and wrong? That is shameful." Pantherclaw finished, his eyes blazing with disgust at Thornstrike's behavior.
Lightwing was glad to see Pantherclaw, as she had been horrified when Thornstrike still wanted to battle. Even more horrifying was her own lust to join it also. If Pantherclaw hadn't come along, it was likely she would have found herself slicing up the Windclan cat. As it was, her claws were back out, and she was doing her best to stop snarling.

[maroon]Thornstrike's snarl ended and he stood straight once more, rolling his eyes. "Another interruption? You think I feel shame anymore? After everything I've done in this life? I've sinned too much to feel anything similar to a consience." Turning to face Pantherclaw, he trotted nimbly over to the tom, tail swaying as though nothing had happened. "You know what? I wasn't born a warrior. Never was, never will be. Not completely anyway. This is getting boring; are both of you going to stand there and blabber continuously about peace and shame and righteousness and all your other bee-brained talk? Cause my paws are really getting fidgety, and just standing here isn't solving anything." As though to prove his point, he tore up tussocks of grass with his claws before his smile faded and his eyes glittered dangerously with uninterpretable thoughts.[/maroon]

OOC: Remember that this thread has to be a battle thread.
IC: Dewdrop growled deep in her throat as claws sliced through the thin skin of one of her ears. She felt blood trickling down, deep into her ear, and she flicked it, shaking her head to try and wipe the blood out. Spitting with rage, she returned his glare and bunched the muscles in her legs. "Very well," she hissed scornfully, her eyes ice cold. She sprang forward, fore claws aimed at his shoulder, eyes aimed towards his face. Only until she had left the she-cat behind did she realize she had left Featherpaw undefended.
----
Featherpaw hissed quietly as she watched the cats fighting. When Dewdrop leaped, she pushed past the RiverClan tom and scrambled up the side of the hole towards where Thornstrike was. She saw trickles of blood dripping through her mentor's fur and suddenly she grew dizzy at the sight of it. She backed away until the scent of the WindClan border grew strong in her nose.
-----
Russetstorm glared at Thornstrike as the two broke apart, and he shook his bleeding. "Fox-dung!" He spat at the tom, and ignored Lightwing's words. "Heraldstar would want us to chase off the intruders!" He hissed. Fixing the tom in his furious amber stare he growled, "That's exactly what you're doing! Just standing their. Don't you dare insult my clan mates when you aren't much better, you crow-food eating excuse for a cat!" He snarled.

Pantherclaw was at the end of his last nerve. The way Thornstrike looked, and how he walked further into Riverclan territory like it was nothing...Now there was a reason to fight. This tom was showing no respect for the border at all! Shadestar would want them to teach this brute a lesson. "Forget it!" Pantherclaw yowled at last, unsheathing his paws and leaping onto Thornstrike's back in a flash of speed and anger. Rage worked as well as adrenaline as the warrior ripped his claws over Thornstrike's right flank, spitting and hissing as he did.
Lightwing gave up on controlling herself, and seeing Dewdrop looking so angry, and still standing on Riverclan land...the time had come to fight for the respect of the border. Lightwing hissed angrily at the shecat, flexed her claws, and glared at her, daring her to stand up for her absurd actions. "Come on fox dung, try me!" Lightwing spat furiously.

Dewdrop hissed with rage and annoyance, and reared back as Lightwing sprang at her. Scrambling back to the edge, she noticed out of the corner of her eye that Featherpaw had scrambled away. They were outnumbered. She shot Featherpaw a silent look and hoped the apprentice would realize that she wanted her to run back and get help. Glaring at the RiverClan warriors she hissed, "Get out of my way, and I'll be back on our land!" She lashed her tail with annoyance. She glared at both with unsheathed claws, but new better than to try taking on two cats at once.
----
Russetstorm hissed as Pantherclaw sprang on top of Thornstrike, but now he saw his advantage. He padded slowly over to the two fighting cats, and crouched ready to lash out as soon as he saw a flash of Thornstrike's dark tabby fur. This WindClan warrior was going to pay for what he had done.
----
Featherpaw cast one last frightened glance at the fighting and turned to run back to camp. It wasn't because she saw Dewdrop's look; she hadn't noticed it. But because she knew her clan mates could not take on all 5 of these RiverClan cats, and she was not helping by standing around. She hoped she would make it back to her camp before one of them got hurt. She looked over her shoulder one last time to see two cats ganging up on each of her clan mates.
----
From the distance, crouching on a strip of land that lay unmarked between the two territories, a small black and white tom watched the mayhem. He had lay unnoticed in the bushes as his ice blue eyes watched as the battle grew, and then unfolded. Personally, he did not believe it was the silver tabby she-cat's fault that she tripped in the rabbit hole. No cat could see everything. Even he had fallen into many holes in his time. Sighing to himself he wished cats wouldn't want to rip each other to shreds. He had heard the dark tabby tom's words about murder, and he shuddered. He recognized his own gentle nature in that of the small she-cat who had begun to run away, back to her own camp as though to get help. She seemed to flinch at the signs of a battle. He did not step in though, as this was not his battle.

Jadeheart had been hunting, and came up along the Windclan border having heard screeching and smelled blood. What she saw explained it all. Pantherclaw was locked in a fierce fight with a Windclan tom, while Lightwing looked as though she was about to thrash a second Windclan cat. The Riverclan she-cat walked over to the battle, ready to back up her clanmates if more Windclan cats turned up.
Lightwing sneered and snarled at Dewdrop, and finally lost her cool. She saw Russetstorm was getting ready to help Pantherclaw, and decided that she should make sure Dewdrop was too distracted to help her clanmate. With a low growl, Lightwing pounced at Dewdrop, sending her claws flying at the Windclan she-cat's flank. She spat insults and taunts as she did so.
Pantherclaw was too swept up in his fight to notice that Russetstorm was ready to help him. He was too busy scratching and thrashing to see his clanmate poised to attack as well.

[maroon]Snarling as the Riverclanner slashed at his back, Thornstrike slid sideways and lashed out towards the tom's head, feeling his own fur and flesh rip as he clawed at his opponent. Despite his focus on battling Pantherclaw, he was well aware of Russetstorm waiting for the moment when he left himself vulnerable, and Thornstrike made sure to keep his back away from the tom as he aimed to bite through Pantherclaw's shoulder. His green eyes flashed as he noticed Dewdrop being cornered, but he had a feeling the sudden absence of Featherpaw meant that his apprentice had returned to camp for help. His sides stung from his enemies' claws, but it was nothing compared to the adrenaline that was rushing through him. Enjoying the thirst for battle, he kicked out harshly at Pantherclaw's side, spinning on his forepaws before clamping his jaws around the tom's tail.[/maroon] ------- [navy]Hissing, the tom aimed a blow at the she-cat's jaw as Dewdrop lunged forward. However, Icewreath was soon accompanied by his clan-mate Lightwing as the she-cat intervened. Aware that the Windclan warriors were outnumbered, the black tom saw his chance and leaped forward, preparing to slam into the smaller cat's side and knock her over. Snarling under his breath as the Windclan apprentice raced away back onto her territory, the tom briefly considered chasing after her, but he decided against it. By the time Windclan's reinforcements returned, they would've made quick work of these trespassers. [/navy] [/center]

Dewdrop growled as claws sliced her cheek, and then the ground rose up to meet her as two cats slammed her to the ground. She felt claws digging deep into her flanks, and she twisted and squirmed in the dirt beneath them, trying to twist her body around so she could get into a fighting position. She saw the she-cat's leg, and lunged forward to sink her teeth deep into Lightwing's flesh, while her claws tried to get grip into the ground. Blood roared in her ears and she briefly fought panic as she found herself unable to get back up and fight them. Insults were ringing through the air, and she hissed deep in her throat as they stung her deep, like the enemy's claws.
